I would love to do urbex some time, problem is:
1. It's illegal
2. No good places around my town to do it.
Just use http://imgur.com/ next time, there's an option to automatically resize all of the images you upload.

problem 1 is solved when problem 2 is solved.
Ideally, you want to be somewhere that trespassing won't matter because no one's been there for a long time...
Nice pictures, would scare the shit out of me. Is Detroit really as dangerous as people say?
Yes let me spend all night resizing 188 pictures for you, maybe you can click the link* under the media thing where it doesn't fill your whole screen?
Don't you agree with him russell crowe
i agreed with him AFTER I FoUnd out you can click the link ps. this is really awesome
Instead of linking to full-size photos, and every single on you took. Resize your lot of photos with Prish Resizer and then cut them down to under 50 of the best ones, and put the all of the full-size (including bad ones) photos in a rar and upload it for people who want any photos. It's what me and Bengley did for our Urbex threads, shame I can't do it anymore because I got arrested :v:.
When arrested, Did you get a fine or something?
And after you explained him what you were doing there what did he say?
(I'm always kinda interested in what people have to say about this)
You photographed the graffiti and not the architecture. :C
I would love to do some urbex, but there is like no where to do it at. Fuck you, Copenhagen!

120$ fine
We explained and he said he was cool with it and let us off easy with less then what we should have got, made some jokes about the place too, he was a cool cop.

Yes it is, it is really as bad as people say

If you look at the full dump I did try to take pictures of the architecture, but it was hard to do with all the water and dark and stuff.
[editline]31st December 2010[/editline]
just remember there are like 188 pictures, i tried to get as much as i could and my battery died when i still had like half my memory left so yeah, sorry.
(For the architecture guy)

Clean your lens, fucking hell.
Clean your lens, fucking hell.
You shouldn't get an attitude with someone who does stuff like this for ungrateful slags like you, note we were in the BASEMENT of a TRAINSTATION with trains STILL GOING above us. There was dust everywhere, the lense got cleaned later. Grow up and deal with it, put you Binky in your mouth and stop crying, be happy I even posted the pictures for you.
better yet buy me a new camera with a better lense since this one is already fucked to shit from doing stuff like this and being dropped in places like this.

Yeah, in the basement of a train-station, amazing. I've done plenty of Urbex before, in much more dangerous places, so that doesn't impress me. Take a micro-fiber cloth with you next time and read up on some photography tips.
Viewing every picture hold on.

woah man woah didn't know you've urbex'd on a volcano before while sky diving off a 747 while micro-fiber clothing your camera.
I'm not a fucking professional you smelly cloth kid, I'm trying to take pictures for my friends to look at and if you're too annoyed by the dots on a few of them because of the dust that was settling then leave the thread or something and take a xanax dude. and since when was i trying to impress you mister B-Hazard.

why do you need to be a jerk about it, you're not being very positive, urbex and photos should be encouraged.

I was totally hoping you'd come to this thread, you're like the god of this shit on facepunch and the reason I made the thread here.
Not trying to make you mad but you should put this is the Art forum and such, it's why it's their.

My dad grew up around there and when I asked him about this he said he used to go through the Michigan Central Station and explore and that it was pretty cool.
[img_thumb]http://oi56.tinypic.com/2upv69k.jpg[/img_thumb]
I'd rather put my pictures on my own server not tinypic
This thread is the perfect example of some of Facepunch's selfish user base. OP didn't have to post these pictures at all, if I was him, and I knew you ungrateful bastards were going to act this way, I wouldn't have. With that out of the way, I'd like to thank OP for sharing his Urbex experience with us.
Damn, I know a place where I could do some off this, I sadly though have no camera.
That's a fuckton of graffiti.
yeah, there was a fuckton i didn't take pictures of too because it was just dumb or what not, every single floor of the place was filled with graffiti too and we didn't touch at least 4 floors

Digging the reference in this one.
I wish I could explore around LA, but no one I know wants to come along. And I cannot for the life of me find any buildings that are interesting at all. They're all abandoned office buildings which yield nothing besides hobo refuse and shitty tags. The only interesting buildings are covered 24/7 by police.
oh yeah man, i never knew that was from a song to be honest until you just said that, i knew it had to be from something though, that room was fucked up beyond belief. And in Detroit a lot of the buildings you can just walk into since there are so many abandoned ones, its just the timing and stuff that gets you
Holy shit that place is covered in graffiti. And I thought some of the places I've been to were vandalized to hell.
OP, did you wear a respirator while you were there? Judging by this photograph, there was probably asbestos in the air.
I'm seriously not going to spend an hour resizing over 100 images then another hour reuploading them then another hour retagging and posting them.
How comes when I make urbex threads (i've made loads) it takes me less than 5 minutes to resize over a hundred images? Try Prish Resizer. It's what I use and it does the job pretty well.

No need to be a dick about it, I think all urbex should be cherished and even if they aren't the most advanced dangerous places, you should still enjoy it and see it as an opportunity to see somewhere nobody else does.
