I hope the music will be in the same caliber as this but ofcourse in the theme and art direction of how The Hobbit is made yet still as memorable.

Among the creative behind-the-scenes team returning to Jackson's crew are director of photography Andrew Lesnie, production designer Dan Hennah, conceptual designers Alan Lee and John Howe,
composer Howard Shore and make-up and hair designer Peter King.
Costumes are designed by Ann Maskrey and Richard Taylor.
Taylor is also overseeing the design and production of weaponry, armour and prosthetics which are once again being made by the award winning Weta Workshop.
Weta Digital take on the visual effects for both films, led by the film's visual effects supervisor,
Joe Letteri. Post production will take place at Park Road Post Production in Wellington.

Wow, he looks so much thinner then when I last saw him :monocle:
Now all I'm waiting for is The Silmarilion to become a movie. I loved that book.

Soooooo psyched for this it's unreal! I think all the cast are very well chosen as well.
Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords) has been confirmed to play an elf.

Peter Jackson will be shooting at 48 fps.
WAIT WHAT? Is that picture new? Gollum's cave?
Made a thread about it.
Footage. That's right, footage from the set.

Hell yes ! That video gave me a total shivers especially the end where we see the ring being picked up again, symbolically middle earth is back. I just don't wanna get spoilt too much, that's my only concern :D
Hnng, the music sent shivers down my spine. Gave me fond memories of watching the "behind the scenes" of LOTR.
And Jackson looks so happy. I was worried he'd be sort of worn out after all the mess during pre-production.
The people of New Zealand seem so friendly, it's like one big family on the set.
I WANT TO GO.
Peter has confirmed that Ian Holm will be returning as an older Bilbo.
Robert Kazinsky just pulled out of The Hobbit.
I am sad to report that Rob Kazinsky, who was cast in the role of Fili, is having to leave The Hobbit and return home, for personal reasons. Rob has been terrific to work with and his enthusiasm and infectious sense of humour will be missed by all of us. I should say that Rob’s departure will not affect ongoing filming of The Hobbit, nor will it impact work done to date, as we had yet to film much of Fili’s storyline. At the moment we are shooting scenes featuring Bilbo without the Dwarves, which will give us time to find a new Fili. I’ll keep everyone posted with updates as they come.
Cheers,
Peter J
I just re-watched The Fellowship of the Ring.
God damn it, this can't come soon enough.

Well he's from eastenders, he can't be that good of an actor.

He seemed extremely enthusiastic though.
Anyways, Peter Jackson confirmed that the movies will be released in both 24 and 48 fps.

Saying that, he probably was my favourite actor from eastenders and yeah I saw from the video of the set and the actors saying who they were, you could tell he was enthusiastic
Hugo Weaving spotted in Wellington, NZ. Hopefully he'll be officially announced as Elrond soon.

he wasn't already? with all the returning roles, you think he'd be at the top of the list.
I remember hearing murmurs about this after Return of the King came out, but I didn't realize that it was actually on the path to production now. Sweet. Looking forward to Howard Shore's new score.
Does anyone know even what year it's supposed to come out?
December 2012 for Part 1.
