Oh god, i rather speak english than german.
As people has said for the past 8 pages, English is the most widely used language in the world. Hell, they even use it in songs from Japan, Spain, France etc.
So what was the point you were trying to make? English is the most used language in the world, simple as that.
Its mandarin
That's quite a lot of boxes you have there OP..
You could build yourself one of these, OP. [editline]04:23PM[/editline] But a LOT bigger.
I agree with OP on some points, the fact that the English language is destroying other cultures and languages but you cant blame the people in USA and UK for that.
i think more people speak chinese than english actually, but I would have to confirm it.

British are lazy too D:
English isn't a global language necessarily, but it has had such a huge impact on the world that future languages will forever have english loanwords in the same way that all european languages today have Latin loanwords due to how prevalent Roman culture became throughout europe.
So what was the point you were trying to make? English is the most used language in the world, simple as that.
Actualy its mandarin chinese based on sheer numbers but english is the most recognised ill give you that.
OP must be that german kid very angry after losing a game on some English server. So he came here to mash his keyboard.
i speak english since i was 5
Oh yeah you have perfected English all right.
i think more people speak chinese than english actually, but I would have to confirm it.
It's because they have 1.5 billion inhabitants :downs: Not to mention most of them won't even be able to travel outside their country.
I've thought about this before but only now i felt like making a thread about it. I, as an European, foreign to you American and British and Canadian folk (and countless other english speaking countries), were forced to learn a foreign language, either it be because school or just because like 90% of the internet is in English, everything is english. Why english? Why do we have to learn their language when they probably are clueless to what Esperanto is. It's a fairly easy to learn language, i speak english since i was 5, surprisingly by watching Cartoon Network. (Old school CN, not the shit programs that are shown), my english was then improved by school, and perfected by the Internet, not that my english is perfect anyway.. So here i am trying to learn German, while you guys don't even have a second language, and your english is so shitty that a fucking 4 year old Iraqi child can spell better than you old farts. This has gotten me mad, Globalization should not be monolingual, it should be multilingual, as in, learning as much languages as you can, learning cultures, learned history, shit like that.. I'm tired of you lazy fuckers, I'm serious, the people, in general, are FUCKING RETARDS, we AS A SPECIES have never had so much information on a screen, you literally Google your ass out for whatever you want, learning whatever you want, even fucking whoever you want. So to speak. TL;DR: The fact that you tl:dr'ed backs up my thread about how lazy you knuckleheads are.
The reason a lot of European countries Learn many other languages is because the countries are rather small and close together. This makes it easier for them to communicate with each other and learn each other's languages. The USA (Not America, you dumbass. America is the continent that the USA is located on), is a rather large country, with only two geographical neighbors. One speaks English and French (Canada), and the other speaks English and Spanish (Mexico). This means that we mostly don't need to learn another language except Spanish, due to the recent influx of Mexican immigrants. Basically, the reason Americans don't learn many languages besides English, is because our country isn't the comparative size of a walnut, and doesn't have constant contact with many other languages besides English. And by the way, good job being a stereotypical dickhead.

What's your point? [editline]06:03PM[/editline] And also, english is one of simplest languages in the world. That's why it's so common. If you don't like it. Fine, go communicate with 2% of the world. [editline]06:04PM[/editline] Fifth Page
English already was a global language before most of us were born. It has been used as the primary language for sailing, air travel, diplomacy, and business for a long time. Fun fact: the language that served all these roles (except air travel, for obvious reasons) used to be French. All diplomats and any politician or business man who expected to deal with foreigners was going to either learn french or get a very good interpreter. However, one of the reasons this is no longer the case is because: A. Nobody likes the french B. Some dipshit french king decided to make the language more difficult to discourage peasants from trying to learn to read. Backfired and made the world forget the language TL;DR French is hard C. English was a language also spoken widely, and considering the empire's power and ease of learning, the world slowly took on english It should come as no surprise to anyone, native english or second language, that english is a good candidate for a global language. That said, I encourage people to learn other languages, even if only to expand your brain. This is especially a good idea if you would like to watch/read things in the original language. One last thing: anyone not able to understand what OP was saying didn't read the post. That fucking simple. READ IT AGAIN OR GTFO THIS THREAD. Don't need dumbasses responding when they have no idea what they're talking about.

Because of all the colonies England had. You shouldn't be complaining, you should be happy that England had the balls to force their language on people.
