That Americans are lazy, stupid bastards.
This.
Kaik esittellee ett ossaa muit kielii tääl jumalauta. English is a fine language. Besides, having a single language simplifies a lot of stuff. If I were talking Finnish on internet, people besides Finns would have NO idea what I would be talking about. Especially because translators fail with finnish.
The only reason chinese is the most spoken language is because china has a large population density, and it's a big place anyway, there's like 1.3 billion people in china.
So it seems they're losing their language faster then us on the other side of the atlantic .... Yup French is bound to fade away..
Like that?
I am trying to learn french right now. [[ Quebec french is terrible, and hard =[[ I'm hoping it fades away, because it is just too difficult to learn. I hate how with some words you have to roll your tongue, and for lots of words, you don't pronounce the last letter. Oh but wait, there is always exceptions! I kinda hate going to class, having my teacher tell me to read something out, then after I say it, she's like "that's wrong! There's an exception!". It's always those fucking exceptions. You could just tell me I am always going to be stuck with exceptions! Oh, and I don't want to learn your language because it wont do me any good in Canada. Even if it did, I would say fuck it because I have enough trouble as is with english =p
Like that?
AHHAHA THAT'S FREAKING FUNNY AHAHHAHA awesome Famouscra You say our french is terrible yet you must be butchering it just saying bonjour. Quebec french is not more "terrible or hard" then the France one... It's just the expressions that changes and the accent.
I've thought about this before but only now i felt like making a thread about it. Why english? Why do we have to learn their language when they probably are clueless to what Esperanto is.
Hey...Your right I don't know what Esperanto means. I'll Google it. BRB.
About this sound Esperanto (help·info) is the most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language.[2] Its name derives from Doktoro Esperanto, the pseudonym under which L. L. Zamenhof published the first book detailing Esperanto, the Unua Libro, in 1887. The word esperanto means "one who hopes" in the language itself. Zamenhof's goal was to create an easy and flexible language that would serve as a universal second language to foster peace and international understanding.
Now I understand. Thanks Wikipedia! Oh and a question. How can you compare someones typed words to how they speak in real life? Because their grammar isn't good when typing. Just because they didn't put an apostrophe in a word doesn't mean they can't speak the fucking language? Get over yourself :buddy:
That Americans are lazy, stupid bastards.
lol i use stereotypes im so kewl.
Britain owned most of the world at one point, there is a reason English is dominant...
So did the the roman empire, who here speaks fluent Latin?
So did the the roman empire, who here speaks fluent Latin?
dico melius The Roman Empire fell, and thus did the language. The British Empire was more recent, and so the language is used more. It was also more widespread.
Everyone of you fucks that says they speak french, You speak as in what ? You can ask for the bathroom and say hello ?
I'm british I don't need other languages I just have to shout loud and in slow english.
I'm American, and was forced to take 3 years of Spanish classes. I can't speak Spanish for shit though. Я говорю Русский... I started learning Russian recently, for the hell of it. I actually learn better on my own than in high school language classes.
No it isn't. It's Chinese. Next comes Spanish (Esperanto) and then English. Probably late and all that but I don't like how people are giving him agrees left and right.
Native language. Which matters as much as my balls.
So did the the roman empire, who here speaks fluent Latin?
So tell me, where did nearly every European language, including English, originate?
I can pretend to speak two languages by throwing consonants together. I'm very good at that.:P [editline]04:26PM[/editline] That is by native tongue, you idiot.
I create constructed languages :eng101:
no. there should be one language that everyone learns. not necessarily English, but not esperanto. esperanto is awful.
no. there should be one language that everyone learns. not necessarily English, but not esperanto. esperanto is awful.
English. I'm Norwegian. But i choose English, why? because it's easier then complicated languages like German, French and Chinese. Fuck that i'll stick to english bitches
Rant about how dumb people who speak English are, on an English forum. You win a whole box for being so smart.
Allez, moi je propose qu'on parle tous en français à partir de maintenant (juste dans ce topic hein!). Non? Bon, ok je sors...

English is THE language to speak. Who ever thinks otherwise is a racist terrorist.
The English language is fascinating. Especially accent and dialect. Today my sister said to me "Don't do that whatever you do". She's 2, and it's a regional phrase. It's brilliant how they pick it up.
English is the new Latin.
English is the new Latin.
English is the new French which is the new Latin which is the new Sanskrit.
I want to post an interesting comment but one of my nostrils are blocked and it's a right pain in the arse. How much snot is freakin' up there?! I've blown my nose 1000+ times. Thanks for accepting this hugely off-topic post, facepunch.
More people speak Chinese. Anyhow, English and Chinese are the two languages with the most speakers. If you don't like that most everything in the world is in English, no one cares because we're all busy speaking in English and ignoring your Moonspeak.
I'm a multi-lingual person (German, English, Chinese and Spanish), and the only language that ever gave me trouble was the one I learned in grade school: Spanish. The problem is the way languages are taught in schools in this country; much too late and with no focus on speaking and comprehension, only grammar. And that's too abstract, it's ridiculous to expect that anyone can go from looking at examples to speaking a language on the street without a lot of exposure and practice. The same goes for college, the lack of immersion leads to poor skills even at a higher level. And by that point, kids are usually frustrated with languages and hate the idea of learning them.

I had no problem with the vocabulary, but the shitty way of teaching languages in schools lead me to never appreciate or take interest in the language. I'm much better off learning languages myself.
I bet none of you know Welsh eh!?
