In Spanish class, it was all about conjugation and grammar. I had no problem with the vocabulary, but the shitty way of teaching languages in schools lead me to never appreciate or take interest in the language.
I'm much better off learning languages myself.
True that, I thought for the longest time I was actually incapable of understanding the spoken language, because I couldn't follow a single word I heard. Turns out, everyone around me was just Puerto Rican.
But conjugation and grammar is important, but it's useless unless you can put it into your own words.
OP is uneducated little boy who speaks in tongues

Yeah, seriously, that's the way to look at it, because China is just a clusterfuck of chinks breeding like rabbits. Doesn't really count.
So what was the point you were trying to make? English is the most used language in the world, simple as that.
ummm...spanish..
I'm a multi-lingual person (German, English, Chinese and Spanish), and the only language that ever gave me trouble was the one I learned in grade school: Spanish. The problem is the way languages are taught in schools in this country; much too late and with no focus on speaking and comprehension, only grammar. And that's too abstract, it's ridiculous to expect that anyone can go from looking at examples to speaking a language on the street without a lot of exposure and practice.
The same goes for college, the lack of immersion leads to poor skills even at a higher level. And by that point, kids are usually frustrated with languages and hate the idea of learning them.
I had a tougher time learning French, my first language, in school than it was to learn English by myself just by living in an English speaking country. School sucks.
Well, us Scots are forced into learning German or French, I don't really like learning German.
Agreeing with everyone who's getting rated box.
People that hate Americans are just mad cause we're SO FUCKING PERFECT. ( except the fat Americans )

Too bad you didn't contribute anything to your perfect american society, and you're taking credit for them just for being born there. Big achievement dude. Being involuntarily born on some land mass.

Why would you want to learn any other language other than English anyway? We're all so sophisticated and smart.

We are the best.
English is the best language. Plus it's simple, easy, and efficient. Learning English was the best forced decision I ever didn't make!
Did you read the thread carefully or did you just wanted a post for agrees?
I said: "Globalization should not be monolingual, it should be multilingual, as in, learning as much languages as you can[...]"
Right and instead of just having USB port, there should be 20 types, and you have to buy a card for each one!
I've thought about this before but only now i felt like making a thread about it.
I, as an European, foreign to you American and British and Canadian folk (and countless other english speaking countries), were forced to learn a foreign language, either it be because school or just because like 90% of the internet is in English, everything is english.
Why english? Why do we have to learn their language when they probably are clueless to what Esperanto is.
It's a fairly easy to learn language, i speak english since i was 5, surprisingly by watching Cartoon Network. (Old school CN, not the shit programs that are shown), my english was then improved by school, and perfected by the Internet, not that my english is perfect anyway..
So here i am trying to learn German, while you guys don't even have a second language, and your english is so shitty that a fucking 4 year old Iraqi child can spell better than you old farts.
This has gotten me mad, Globalization should not be monolingual, it should be multilingual, as in, learning as much languages as you can, learning cultures, learned history, shit like that..
I'm tired of you lazy fuckers, I'm serious, the people, in general, are FUCKING RETARDS, we AS A SPECIES have never had so much information on a screen, you literally Google your ass out for whatever you want, learning whatever you want, even fucking whoever you want. So to speak.
TL;DR: The fact that you tl:dr'ed backs up my thread about how lazy you knuckleheads are.
Almost all schools in almost all English speaking countries force you to learn a second language (although you're right, we don't just learn another language in everyday life and I really wish I did, but there are really no opportunities to do so without moving to a different country.)
How are you? Ca va?
I am now a bilingual American.
:smugdog::hf::smug:
You might be able to speak more languages than me, but I still think you are an idiot.
Bad grammar dude, you said as much languageS, when you should have said as many. Your point is now invalid :smug:

Arret! Je ne parle pas francais!
English fuckin rocks, bro.
My English teacher told our class that English is a silly language every idiot could learn, thus it's not unlikely that everyone learns English.
Personally, I am pretty interested in other languages especially Dutch, since this language sounds really funny If you're a native German speaker. French is also an interesting language, although it sounds immensely gay.
You best not be insulting my language, boy.

the Internet, I believe, was first invented by British scientists at CERN as a way of easily transerring information and messages between computers.
