my main problem with the red line is that it feels really unbalanced. the red line just leads your eyes off the right side of the screen, which is really distracting. i propose this crude mockup as a potential solution:

the red leads your eyes to the right, and that box above it catches them right back while drawing attention to the upgrade and invitation features. it balances the layout and advertises!

simple solution to every complaint is to disable css.
The red line is just blaring in my face every time I'm at the top of a page, it's very distracting.

A graph showing the amount of people viewing the home page/section/thread would be neat to fill that space in. If bandwidth is an issue, make it gold-only and only be able to load a certain amount of data before needing to make a request manually for even older data.

when i saw the red bar for the first time earlier, my initial reaction was "shit what did i get banned for"

It would look fine at current res if the white didn't blur in at the bottom.

I love the red line. I feel like without it, the header doesn't have any "power" and it's like "Oh, where does the logo end? Who knows?" Just make it the same shade, sharpen the logo, and it's golden. As for the blues, I don't really mind the color. Only a tiny bit darker would be great.

The new blue is kinda harsh on the eyes on the front page.
The blue and white horizontal stripes to remind me of a kawaii anime girl's pantsu, which I suppose is a plus.
The red line is pretty annoying.
