Still two of my favorites.
This motherfucker (The Horned King) from The Black Cauldron [img_thumb]http://www.animationartgallery.com/images/WDC/WDCATH6.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WupTYuceq-k/TI_FdnPl77I/AAAAAAAAAPo/Yg6ZaZGPYH0/s640/the+horned+king.jpg[/img_thumb]
The books were fucking amazing, I loved them.
I like villains that appeared to be innately good at the beginning, even when they look like one of the good guys, no hooked nose, evil grins or awkward moments. I don't think Disney ever create those types of villains since it may end up sending a wrong message to children about when the next time they see someone nice and good-looking they are to instantly assume the worst out of them.
...so teaching children that ugly people are evil is the right message?
...so teaching children that ugly people are evil is the right message?
I think that he is trying to imply that Disney never made their villains look ugly.
I think that he is trying to imply that Disney never made their villains look ugly.
He's actually saying Disney made the villains 'ugly' or visually evil because children would otherwise start suspecting nice people as being secretly evil. Which is obviously wrong, Disney made the villains look evil because kids are stupid and they need the visual cue.
I always thought Shan-Yu from Mulan was awesome.
Professor Ratigan [img_thumb]http://cinefantastiqueonline.com/wp-content/uploads/Ratigan_hmmm_sized.jpg[/img_thumb] He's not a Rat :colbert:
The way Vincent Price voiced him was just fantastic. Really, the character was written FOR Price. That only happened again in 2003 when they wrote Dory for Ellen DeGeneres.
Which is obviously wrong, Disney made the villains look evil because kids are stupid and they need the visual cue.
Did you look at Gaston and think he was evil? I mean, at first glance? Not seeing his first line, not seeing any trailers, ANYTHING, could you guess he was evil? No, and that's the beauty of the movie. The transformartion of Beast into a good person and Gaston into an actual beast is one of the hidden subplots of the movie. And let's not forget: No one takes cheap shots like Gaston! Talking about other villains, Facilier is one of the greatest underrated villains too. I mean, Keith David... Uhn... pure audio sex. If they just got Tim Curry to do a Disney villain... A TRUE Disney villain. Mother Gothel, from Tangled, is also a great villain, and it's a more real villain. More real than most of the other Disney villains.
acutally, tim curry did the voice of forte in beauty and the beast 2
Read please.
Uhn... pure audio sex. If they just got Tim Curry to do a Disney villain... A TRUE Disney villain.
Well, it's not a Disney villain, but Tim Curry did play this dude from Ferngully.
Fucking Shere Khan or Hades

As previously stated Gaston from Beauty and the Beast is the best example, he's meant to be some handsome manly man that everyone loves, but it turns out the big scary monster is the good guy, and he's just a dick. (Though they kind of ruin the message by having the Beast turn back into a long haired pretty prince at the end) [editline]19th February 2011[/editline] Tarzan is kind of like this too. The big silverback Gorilla might seem to be the bad guy at first, but he turns out nice and Clayton (the upstanding Gentleman) is a total bastard.

EDIT Not to mention one of the greatest deaths in Disney history. Overall a fantastic villain. SPOILER: HE DIES!
