The trailer alone looks and feels better than a full Bayformers movie.
Anything shorter than a full Bayformers movie is automatically better.
Could be grasping at straws, but since this is 10 years after PR1 the Jaegers would be faster and more advanced. They "should" be more like Striker Eureka (streamlined and agile) as she was the latest one built. However, I feel they sped up these new ones a little too much.
i could deal with the new jaegers being somewhat "too sleek" if the cockpit chamber wasn't so damn cheap looking

Yeah. It makes perfect sense in the context of the universe that they would move so quickly and look so natural in their movement, but you lose a lot of the charm of the original. Striker Eureka had very fluid movement compared to the older Jagers, but it still looked very heavy and mechanical. They're taking it a little too far.
That said, I still feel like I can't complain too much because I'm still amazed this movie is happening at all. Everything looks better than I expected, but not as good as I hoped it would. My main concern now is that they'll try to do too much in the movie. There's apparently still Kaiju, but now there's apparently bad guy Jagers and then the biological Kaiju-Jagers on top of that. That's a lot of stuff to fit into one movie that probably (should be) painting only in large and simplistic strokes for a story.
Yo it's Karl Fookin Tanner
Sweet Charlie Day is back. I'm honestly pretty excited, I love giant robots punching giant monsters in the face.
Keep in mind that John Boyega has now played characters named Finn and Jake.
So Marceline is next then

Obligatory.
wait, why is a jaeger fighting another jaeger?
wait, why is a jaeger fighting another jaeger?
My prediction is Jaeger fights became a sport thing after the Kaiju threat ended which is why pilots still exist (based off the part @ 1:30 where the two jaegers are fighting followed by cheering, but that might just be *editing*), and movie focuses on rival Jaeger teams putting aside their differences to fight Kaiju made Jaegers.
Doesn't explain why there's a scrappy Jaeger piloted by one person though. So I'm probably wrong.
Shame the Jaegers have such bland designs now. There's nothing unusual about them now like Crimson Typhoon or Cherno Alpha were. Even the Jaegers that only appeared only for a few seconds in Pacific Rim looked unique, like Romeo Blue or Coyote Tango.

If they kill off all the other mechs except the US one again, I'm flipping a shit.
I want more cluncky mechs. Gimme Cherno Alpha MKII.
Has anyone else read the official plot synopsis introduction?
It says that [sp]Jake was a hotshot Jaeger trainee before he quit the program and now lives alone in the shell of a long-dead Kaiju, selling Jaeger parts for a living. He meets the unknown girl in the trailer and they get into trouble with the law, resulting in an ultimatum where either they both join the Jaeger program or get life in prison. Jake meets Mako, and becomes an instructor and leader for the new generation of pilots just in time for the latest threat.[/sp]
I think i got this from Entertainment Weekly. About as much is available online between different websites.

[sp]So I take it some of the writers of Force Awakens were in on this project.[/sp]
