Rear wheels ruined the whole thing.
Makes me feel sad when I see stuff like this, I try to keep my 280 SE in factory shape and then something like this comes along. Personal opinion is to keep classics (these kind) factory stock, but whatever floats the owners boat, I guess.
Also unless he did something serious to the rear suspension, it's going to be messed up at that height. But I guess he must have.

I see how it may look like I am talking about the camber, I'm not.
I think it's a cool German spin on the style of a slammed old Caddy, or Lincoln.

If it was bagged and on stock wheels I'd think it was cool as hell but the wheels ruin it completely for me. The camber is generally required to "fit" the wheels as most cars aren't designed to fit a wheel that's camber is 20 degrees more than stock at the vehicle's height. The car's fenders would just be sitting on the wheels.
Oh of course, that's not what I meant. I can't remember it off the top of my head, but several people on the MB forum had tried something similar and the suspension geometry was never intended to sit like that for long periods of time, so important elements gave up. Same reason that they jack up the air suspension 300 SEL's when they need to sit for a while, stops damage to air suspension and general suspension setup.
Don't ask me technical questions about it, this is just from what I remember. I might be able to find some threads on it, if interested.

May just be on 300 SEL's. I cannot remember.

Lada 2107(Riva in England), in all it's glory.
Why is it ugly. It's the embodiment of a perfectly normal car, with almost no distinguishing features whatsoever, but also not ugly.

I don't think it's ugly, but it's the also one of the most generic things ever built. It's just a car.
Not to mention that the car has been built for almost 3 decades - it was outdated in every regard when it came out, and it is even more outdated today.

I can feel DP's rage brewing as well.

People that need practical cars:

Even the inside is ugly.
Who the hell needs that much practicality?
Families with 6 people. Though now there's no lack of 7+ seaters out there (not that there were back then either, they just weren't that popular I guess)
I'd rather be seen in public in a Dodge Grand Caravan than that thing.

Agreed, though the newer Caravans(2008+) look better than they used to.
Indeed. LED taillights and all. They look pretty sharp, actually.
Only thing they need is projectors on the front, but I guess they're saving that for the T&C.
This is what practicality should be.

See, very practical! :v:

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. The newer Chrysler and Dodge minivans are probably the sharpest minivans on the road. My neighbor bought one last year and I find myself not turning away in disgust whenever I see it. the same cannot be said for, say, a Kia Sedona:

Reminds me of that guy on Ebay that grafted different elements onto what I think was a Mustang. I think it had the light clusters from an Elise. Was horrid.

Makes me randy. I like that.

That reminds me of some of the weirder customizations that I've seen, like this:

Seriously, what the hell? It's a complete mismatch.
I'd rather be seen in public in a Dodge Grand Caravan than that thing.
I'd rather be seen in a VW Caravelle or Multivan (also known as Eurovan), as a matter of fact, I've been several times.

I wouldn't ever want to be seen in a Grand Caravan. I was using it as an example of how bad the Fiat Multipla looks.

The thing is, you can have a practical vehicle without it looking like complete and total bloated ass. The Chevy Suburban, for example. Great-looking truck, and practical as all hell. Same with the XJ Jeep Cherokee, and various wagons, like the Dodge Magnum. And that's just from the boys in Detroit. Japan and Korea have some fantastic-looking practical cars. That Multipla is a piss-poor excuse for a vehicle, and the people at Fiat that are in charge of their modern styling should be fired, because they're just terrible.
Nobody's posted the Nissan Cube yet?
[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/54/NISSAN_cube_Z12_rear.jpg[/img_thumb]
Or the Scion xB
[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c1/2006_Scion_xB_.jpg[/img_thumb]
Or for that matter, the whole Scion lineup

I hate cars that are literally just one rectangle on wheels.
I disagree on the TC - I think it's actually a pretty good looking car.
But yeah, the rest of the Scion lineup is pretty garbage. My mom test drove the xB when it first came out. It was wretched - the transmission was incredibly jerky, the armrests were about an inch wide (and therefore, worthless), and the whole interior was like a '90s Ford in all their plasticy glory
Aren't the Scions marketed towards the "Cool Youths" who paint their hoods black and add plastic spoilers to add extra 5% Horsepower?
