Ok. Its just that its kind of weird when you are hanging out with your friends outside and you see the creepy kid sitting in a tree with his bow and arrows watching you (I'm not saying you are like that).
Obviously not, because you don't know me :v: . Anyway I go out into the fields and shit far away from people when i take out my bow.... Otherwise it would be weird :ohdear:
They are tested and regulated by the government or whatever, the P2 rating means it can protect you from asbestos.
How about those Russian gas masks that everyone fucking has?
How about those Russian gas masks that everyone fucking has?
I have a Finnish one, but due to it's age (the filters from 1981) the charcoal in the filter has probably decayed, so it will be just as harmful. You can buy new 40mm(needing a 60mm-40mm) filters for them for about £5, just make sure they are P2 or P3 rated(they will most likely be P3). It's actually what I plan on doing myself.
I went Urban exploring (AKA Urban Spelunking) in St.Pete at this abandoned medical facility with 3 of my friends because they we're shooting a cheap movie for one of their classes, and in one scene one of my friends was in nothing but his underwear and just waking up and he was supposed to kick someone, and right as we were getting to shoot a guy looks into the window and see's a half-naked ginger holding a camera filming a ninja. Needless to say, they're not very good writers. Oh and we looked like massive faggots.
I love 'Urban Exploring' (New term to me, usually it's just 'going to an abandoned building) I love the rush you get from it, and I also find it really interesting. On the downside, the majority of the time I go in, eventually my friends will get carried away, and smash anything in sight, and take stuff. Which is usually when I get out. I have been done for trespassing twice, and got away with it once because they couldn't prove I was in there. So, needless to say I am cautious, and go by most of the points you have said, I just wish some of my friends would too.
Basically guys, don't be like these faggots.
Theirs a pretty good journal about a group of Urban explorers in Minnesota. They're good reads and have photos. http://www.actionsquad.org/
I don't like the idea of exploring something without some kind of a protection (like a knife), but I also don't like the idea of being caught trespassing with a weapon..

http://caveclan.org/ It's one for australia, pretty cool. It isn't only caves though.
Done it a couple time but it's cool knowing that there is a whole base of people doing this stuff.

What do you get out of it, and have you been in any terrible situations that you might prevented or have you prevented what might have been a very bad situation?
So basicly, No 50ft cocks covering the entire length of the building :saddowns:
http://caveclan.org/ It's one for australia, pretty cool. It isn't only caves though.
Caveclan does some caves, but mostly drains man. I got invited to clannies this year but i got a new phone and they rang the old one. I did go to a get together last year. I'm so joining next year. I used to live 200 metres from anzac drain, which is actually like, their biggest meeting place. (for melb)
you know what would be cool? Urbex meets Geocacheing.
Ehhh, I live in an area where land prices are to expensive to find any good sites around here.

A P2 mask can protect you against asbestos fine, but a P3 mask can protect against more stuff such as gases, and very very fine substances, etc.
You say I can get a gasmask from Homebase? For only £10.99 how cheap.
You say I can get a gasmask from Homebase? For only £10.99 how cheap.
A pack of 3, but they are just valved P2 dust masks.
Urban exploring sounds so fun, but with my luck there would be drug addicts waiting inside to stab me in the eyes with their dirty, rusty needles.
Could be worse. I once walked past this abandoned apartment tenement in Houston, and this dirty hobo jumped out with a drinking straw saying he was going to suck out my eyeball juices with it. Suffice it to say, I don't walk past abandoned apartment tenements anymore. :v:
http://caveclan.org/ It's one for australia, pretty cool. Don't bring a police scanner, I got caught with one and the cops fucking confiscated it.
I met up with Rookie in Melbourne last year and did a bit. It was great. He's very knowledgeable in the area.
Melbourne Australia? or it's rip-off in florida?
Melbourne Australia? or it's rip-off in florida?
melbourne :) i have this photo he took
Good god I need to go explore the abandoned mill near me

(for melb)
I'm thinking when I'm 18 next year checking out the Sydney one. Did you just contact them through the site?
I'm quite interested in this, but I don't think any of my friends would fancy coming with me. Wait that makes me sound like a loser.
Basically guys, don't be like these faggots.
Are these dicks actually proud of what they're doing? It is these kind of people that will ruin the public image of Urbexing :( I've wanted to do some of this for a while, however, there's no buildings that aren't locked up in walking distance. Though, as I'm feeling inspired, I may take a train ride to London or Cambridge and check some sites out there :)
Im interested in this, might look at some of the abandoned Meat packing buildings. Yes I live in Chicago. Also, know where I can find good working but affordable gas masks?
First of all, unless the building was built after 2000(in the UK, in the US they still use asbestos), it is highly likely that the building will have asbestos in it,
What? America doesn't still use asbestos in buildings. I want to try this out though. I don't know of any near my town though.
