Stalker is an obvious choice so see it if you haven't already.
Kung Fu Hustle
cannibal holocaust
Jason and the Argonauts (Ray Harryhausen's best. Greek mythology. Acting and dialogue isn't the best but it's brilliant overall. I'd take it's stop motion over any cgi today)
Au Revoir Les Enfants (French film about a Jewish boy leaves his family to go into hiding in a catholic boarding school)
In Bruges (Two Irish hitmen are sent to Bruges after a botched assassination. Dark comedy. Pretty funny. Colin Farrell's best part I think)
Celda 211
The Sandlot.
Caddyshack and Animal House.
They're kind of old, but god damn there funny.
Spaceballs
I watched 13 Assassins a while ago, it was great (I recommend seeing it).
Gran Torino, My Neighbor Totoro
Gojira
Not the American one, the Japanese one.
The American version cut out lots of scenes that add to the tragedy in the movie.
The Room.
Avalon (2001).
Although apparently it was never dubbed in English. It's still amazing.
I thought i was the one one here that likes that movie. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but it's worth checking out if you're into cyber punk movies.
Cyber punk:
Blade runner
Ghost in the Shell
Assault girls
Avalon
The Matrix
(in that order)(and then play deus ex :v:)
Normal list:
Gran torino
Pulp fiction
Reservoir dogs
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring is a great film to watch.
It's a Korean film that shows the life of a Buddhist monk, and it's a really great relaxing film.
And has nice shots of Korean nature.
The Breakfast Club, if you haven't seen it you don't know how good a drama can be, I've hated drama until I watched it.
Citizen Kane
Scarface
The Godfather (Parts 1&2)
Doctor Strangelove
Full Metal Jacket
The Shinning
The Great Dictator (oh chaplin you so amazing)
Serenity (mainly because I have a hardon for firefly)
The Shawshank Redemption
Pulp Fiction
Has anyone here seen Lawrence of Arabia?
if you haven't you should!
like.. now.
Those reviews of the starwars prequels by whats his name. Can't remember, but they're feature length and much better than the movies themselves.

Donnie Darko
Cant believe nobody put Donnie Darko yet (hope i didn't miss any1's post) so cool for both story, idea & music
The last of the mohicans from me, I love that movie.
The Prestige and the Machinist.
Primer.
You may not like it or understand it but its worth a watch.
Incendies, at least if you're interested in watching a good foreign film that has a pretty sad story.

The Goonies is so insanely 80's it will make you cream.
Pretty much every Pixar movie. Except maybe Cars.
Up is personally Pixar's best work. No other movie has managed to make me cry in less than 10 minutes into the movie.
