It is not like people just think being naked is wrong in public, it has alot to do with people not being used to it because the smarter thing to do is wear clothes.

People don't only wear clothes just to hide their body, they can show the personality and individuality of a person. It can be for protection, to show of rank, or unity.
Though should social nudity be outlawed? Nudity isn't something we see everyday, except from ourselves, so I guess people feel weirded out by it. If it was more regular sighting, for example less censorship on movies, tv, etc, than I think it would be more excepted.

Started as clothes for warmth/or to cool, then one compared and said "mine is softer/better,etc" then other one makes one of a higher to that, and then NOT wearing clothes became comletely unacceptable, since this would mean you were a very poor person who cannot buy clothes.
Then Iguess somwhere along the line it went apart from that to the taboo that exists today.

in terms of clothes i just stick to the old shirt and jeans usually; enough to keep me at the right temperature inside or out and also enough to avoid an indecent exposure charge, but also good for protecting from grazes, bites, etc. dunno about wandering around naked all the time but within a house i guess i don't see any huge problems
