I've been into Textures a LOT recently, they're a Dutch technical prog-metal band.

Originally started as a joke by frontman Steven Wilson to test his mixing skills and his home studio, Porcupine Tree has developed into one of the most influential and popular modern progressive rock acts around. With 10 albums and about a dozen bootlegs/EPs, they seem to be getting better with each album.
While generally described as progressive rock, Porcupine Tree are hard to classify as their music goes from prog rock, to metal, to ambient, to post-rock, to experimental and psychedelic. The musical diversity they create is massive.

It was the band before Tool, so not really. They sound similar, but the music has a different feel to me.

S3RL is a musical genius, regardless of his fanbase being comprised of some of the most obnoxious anime faggots in the world that clog up today's hardcore scene. Most people look at him, his song titles, and fans, and see "obnoxious fucking raver from the 90's". If you listen to the music, it is a lot more tasteful than it appears, especially if you're already into happy hardcore. I personally love the melodies that he writes and he knows how to sample without going overboard.
