Someone stole my bike and $20 once. I threatened him the next day at school and my bike 'magically' reappeared in front of our house. Never got the 20 back though.
Actually that was just one of like 4 bikes that I've had stolen. People like to steal bikes..
Easy to take and nobody really cares unless it costs alot, and even then its a lost cause to look for it because you can dismantle it in minutes.
waaaay too much fucking work, especially if your trailer's loaded. those things are fuckin heavy.
in related news, i had some shit robbed today - four marble balls we had in our front garden as an ornament. what the fuck. petty little shits stealing garden ornaments.
Initiation ritual to something.
They are probably stuck into someone (or something) 's anus.
Someone stole my doorbell button once. Almost seems like they did it to inconvenience us rather than to make money off it.
They kept breaking ours.
We installed 2 after already breaking one and someone just kept breaking them, until we put a metal one that didn't have any plastic case that could be broken.
If I ever found the asshole who did that, my door would get a few dents from his head, and I don't care how fucking big he would be. Thats just to piss people off badly.
Once someone attacked me with a bit of wood and stole my phone, and my house has been robbed when I was like 5.
someone ripped out and stole a single solar lamp from our garden one time.
the solar lamps do not have batteries and instead have a relay that is turned off when sunlight hits them, so all they got was a black tube.
i think they figured this out as well because i found it on the ground way down the street by following a trail of dirt clumps.
Ugh I can't imagine things like this happening.
I almost never buy things unless they have some level of value to me, and I'm very meticulous with my money. To lose things of value from my apartment would suck so much.
How did they break in? Did you leave your door unlocked by accident, or did they go through the window or just force their way in?
Storeis like these make me want to invest in fake security stickers and such.
there were no signs of forced entry. The door they came in (to our knowledge) was locked. Also, the apartment complex has a set of doors before you get to the actually apartments that you need a key code to access, so the person who robbed us needed to know that code.
im actually about to leave to go to the school and see what they can do about this.
i haven't had anything of mine robbed i have to be careful though
When my house was broken into over night october 2010, they couldn't get through my dining room door to get the rest of the house (my pc, tv etc) because i have three 3.5 inch steel bars in the door (chubb locks anyone?) but they took my mums iphone, sisters ipod, dads ps3, and put a gaping hole in the floor when they threw a 3 by 3 flagstone through our french doors, cops came over, we told them what was stolen and showed them the boxes (good job my dads a box whore) and some other stuff that hadn't been nicked l0l. got coupons for everything and we got it all back for free, even brand new wood flooring.
But that's just me in england.
Just last night someone broke into our house. Stole the keys to my car my dads car and also all the keys to my dads building.
They then stole his Toureg and left mine with the wheel on full lock for some reason (i guess they couldn't work out the immobilisers)
It's cool just keep on going.. stuff will get sorted
I was robbed once, I was 19 and living on campus collage, but not with dorms, it was like small houses, anyway, there was no security and no gate to the campus so break ins were occasional. One night at like 1:00 in the morning i was up playing whatever games, (this was like 3 and a half years ago) and i hear my door handle to the house begin to rattle, and it is a SOB to open it was all old and shit. Anyway i hear it rattling as if someone was coming in and then I hear to door slowly open and someone step inside, and whisper something to someone else. Before i go on, the house was 3 rooms, 1 dining/living room with Kitchen, 1 was a bedroom, and a bathroom, and i had my pc set up in my room, and little did people know, i also had my Gun safe. In north Carolina it is legal to purchase any rifle as long as its not automatic at the age of 18. So to continue, I hear the whispers.. bla bla bla.. so I slowly get up from my chair and as quietly as possible open the safe, and grab my loaded Mosin Nagant which i had loaded for saefty reasons, I bolt the rifle, and open my door, I see 2 guys one trying to disconnect my Brand new Flat screen that my parents got me for Xmas, and the other looking through drawers in my kitchen,
I then turn my lights on, and aim my rifle at one of the guys, i tell him " Get the fuck away from my tv, and sit down , and then the same to the other guy. So i get both of them to back up into a corner, and i go and close my door, and lock it, One of the guys threatens with a shaky voice, " There are not bullets in there are there man, your too big of a pussy to kill anyone" To which i respond by rebolting my already loaded rifle, thus dropping out a live round onto the carpeted floor, needless to say the guy went white with fear, I then got one of the kids, to get my land line which was on the kitchen counter, and told him to call 911, i gave him the adress and told him to say that he was robbing my house. The cops came about 5 minutes later even though it seemed like hours, They arrested the guys, and needless to say i was quite shaken up, so from now on i put Dead Bolts on all my doors and always keep a loaded handgun, that rifle is fucking bulky, Just my story :)

I'm no Sherlock but the school/police should try to contact your previous room mate if they haven't done so yet.
Maybe next time if you don't park like a giant dickhead people won't steall all your stuff!
We were always considerate to how we parked. That picture was taken in NC or SC or somewhere around there. It was an absolute ghost town so we could easily park in the Hotel parking lot without disturbing anything. You can see how empty the other Hotels parking lot is in the background.
Also the trailer was fully loaded so it's not like we could unhook the 3 heavy chains and lift it off the hitch. It was way too heavy. You can't just park and release it, you have to lift the tongue of the trailer off the ball hitch and set it on the ground. Those trailers don't have those fancy wheels on the end that you can crank up.
That's fucking awesome

Haha its not, i wish i still had the police report, i think its here somewhere its all boxed up and stuff, i just moved to Germany for 2 years, to stay with friends and hopefully get some sort of job.
i think its your room mate, if all they stole was an xbox and a headset , leaving behind a laptop and probably other valuable things unless this robber somehow was not "greedy" and decided to some things behind so he doesn't feel morally wrong. Leave out some money like $20 and take note of the serial code, the money can be tracked then to where ever it was spent and most likely catching your thief
Nobody robs my house.

holy shit that's awesome. oddly enough i live in NC too, now you make me want to do this and be a bad ass, but sadly all i have is a nerf gun, and i don't think that's threatening.
[editline]18th January 2012[/editline]
went and talked to the school today. Normally, they dont cover break ins, being that it is not their fault BUT they didn't replace the locks from which the room mate who left still had the key to. so the school person is looking into ways to re emburse me the money.
How about you back it into the space, you unhinge it you park your car next to it?
That would just make it easier for them to steal it. All they would have to do is drive up with a truck and hitch it up, as opposed to breaking into the van and starting it up. Smartass.
Someone once stole the handle bar grips off my bike, and left the rest of the bike intact, other than that doesn't think I've ever had anything stolen from me.
A friend of mine also got mugged, and my friend ended up with a caution from the police.
It may have been due to him breaking the guys arm in 3 places, including a compound fracture.
He asked for the police and an ambulance at the same time. :v: Apparently the guy was crying his eyes out.
Me and my friends got mugged at gun point a few years ago. The dude put the barrel of the gun against my chest and then pistol whipped me. All they got was $20 dollars. Eventually we ran and they started shooting at us. I had a good laugh afterwards.
Why would you laugh at someone nearly killing you over $20?
[editline]18th January 2012[/editline]
Also my brother rides his push bike to work everyday, few weeks back someone stole his back tire.
i was in a shop ordering a sandwich and since the place is right down the street i left my skateboard outside (to be polite)
some little shit and his friends stopped right in front of the shop and thought it'd be hysterical to try to run away with my skateboard. needless to say i could see them straight through the window and chased the chubby bastard that was clinging to it down. felt good
Someone broke into my house a while back ago, they found my safe that was hidden in the attic. 2 hours later i get home and i find the guy holding his foot and crying, turns out he dropped the safe on his foot.
We lost our camping trailer a few years ago. My dad spent hours upon hours improving it, repainting it and everything. Had a few thousand dollars worth of stuff in it too.
The police never came for questions, never responded to his requests for information, and when this unknown person called his work and told him "I think I may know where your trailer is, some friends of mine were bragging about stealing one that fits its description", the police never went to check.
Shame, really. But stuff is stuff, and no one is hurt so it's not that big of a deal.
Someone stole my pearly marble in baby school, when i found out who it was 11 years later i smashed up their final product for wood work :D
So i came home today after class, went to my computer. i noticed that my mouse was on the ground...i thought that was rather odd, and with further investigation my xbox was missing from my desk as well as my pair of wireless headphones. I just got those headphones not even a month ago...saved up for a few months as well as Christmas money, they cost me $180. So called the police, they came in and looked around, even got a forinsics person to come in and dust for prints. I need help soothing my mind, has this happened to any one else? how long did it take to get your shit back? or do you get any re-reimbursement.
OP, i am sorry for your loss. Have you looked into buying a firearm + GPS trackers? Just conceal the trackers inside the item and profit. Also if you dont have a firearm.

A few years ago my father re-paved and re-sealed our driveway. Since the stuff needed to dry, we had to park our cars on the side of the road in front of our house. My mother was, naturally, concerned about vandalism, because the last time we left a car parked on the road in front of our house some asshat smashed her car window and made off with a stereo and her purse.
First day goes by okay... nothing smashed. The driveway sealer only needed 24 hours to dry, so we could have moved the cars back, but my father wanted to give it an extra night... just in case.
So the next morning my mother looks out the window and notices that her car seems oddly parked. Odd. So she leaves for work, unlocks the car doors, and opened the door before noticing that.... the fucking tires are gone. The car's sitting on cinder blocks.
So we had to call the police and get a report for insurance purposes, and he said that this type of theft was common for the particular make and model of the car (Nissan Maxima). They had to tow the car on a flatbed to get it out.
So a few weeks later, we get a call from the police. They had arrested some 19-year-old asshat for cocaine posession, and when they searched him they found a receipt from a scrap dealer for four car rims in his pocket, dated the day after the theft. Couldn't charge him for the theft of the tires though because the dealer "fucked up" and had no records of it (yeah sure)
One of my shithead childhood friends stole some of my awesome unique lego parts. Fucking bastard.
And I'm sorry, I hope that guy is caught and you get your stuff back.
Dad went to visit relatives outside Sweden. When sleeping in his room a thief or a bunch of thieves came in and took both his two travel bags filled with clothes and other important stuff.
He also lost about 3000 USD cash.
Some jerks break into my house last year...
They stole a lot of things, I don't have much things of values but they took almost everything, It wasn't a big money loss, they just stole things of emotional value.
My grandfather's wooden flute and his scottish pocket watch, I loved those things. I never knew most of my family except for my father and I only know stories about them. That's all I had from anyone that is supposedly part of family other than father. To be honest it broke my heart, I don't see why would you steal a wooden flute. They could have stolen my art supplies, paint was the only thing costly in my house.

Uhh, except if you weren't home, the thief now has a firearm too, and it now becomes an even bigger problem.
This makes me want to invest in a small safe and store a tracking device in it; it'll be a "honeypot" of sorts.
An old friend of mine got their quad bike stolen, though. He lives in an area where cops are rarely patrolling (I'd say less than once a month).
Two months later, his mother and his younger brother went to the forest for some jogging and found the quad bike just standing there. It was clean, untouched and undamaged.
However, there was no gas left in the tank. They also found an empty bag of hot dogs and a campfire on the side.
