I had a GPS and tire gauge (not sure why) stolen from my car. From the glove compartment. Technically my fault, since one of my rear doors were unlocked when I came to the car. Must have accidentally left it unlocked because I was vacuuming out my car earlier that day. I had seen some shifty looking fuckers standing around in the parking lot before I left my car. I'm not jumping to conclusions, but I have a strong suspicion that it was them. Especially because one of them looked at me when I was getting out of my car. Probably going around taking things from people's cars when they would leave. Fuckers.
I'm much more careful about making sure all my doors are locked now. Especially because now I have a radio that actually its worth some money. I should probably remove the faceplate when I leave it alone for an extended amount of time as well.
My jacket got stolen when I was in a club.
And a 400€ bike when I was visiting a friend. Out of his backyard. Had a massive lock too.

Now I ride a really damn old bike.

Now I'm living right next to a fast food (Döner) joint that is open and lighted pretty much 19/7 I hope thieves are afraid of light.
When I was about 8 my dad's car was stolen in the night. My favorite gloves were in the back seat. Bastards.
Luckily I've never had a home robbery. There was a time back when I lived in California where one night all of us were awoken by our big blonde lab's barking. So my dad goes into the kitchen and notices he's barking at the door leading to the garage. A few seconds later he heard a few thuds and the sound of a bucket being knocked over. Quickly, he went into his closet and grabbed his shotgun and went back to the door and proceeded to open it. There was this young looking tweaked out fucker searching through our garage for something useful to open our door to try and rob us. The guy panicked and took off and then my dad called the police. I don't remember if he was caught though, it was a long time ago.
The only other incident that happened similar was one day my dad was borrowing my grandpa's pickup truck to move furniture and one day he got up to go to work and noticed it was gone. It turns out a bunch of illegal immigrants had stolen it to get to the border to try and get family over. Border patrol caught them in the act and they quickly fled the truck leaving behind whatever they had with them. The truck wasn't in bad condition, just a little messy since it was stolen in SoCal and found in Texas.
My dad's Corolla DC was stolen 3 times when I was like 1 year old :v:
He got it back every time.
Nobody robs my house.
Reminds me of the Mazda 323 my family used to own.
You could stead that piece of shit with a large flathead screwdriver.
No wonder it was stolen 5 times and was always found in the shittier parts of the town every time.
Once when I was like 5, my dad put out a bunch of dirt and gravel with a note on the bags saying "FREE TO TAKE". Some teenagers ran up and thought they were stealing it, and ran off with their middle fingers up screaming "STOLE YOUR SHIT DICKHEADS".
Our house was robbed a few years back. They failed to get in through the window of a 280 year old house, eventually suceeding on the second window they tried
Ran straight past my iPod, PSP, even desktop computer. They rummaged through a draw and stole a single camera
The police got finger prints and we got the camera back through insurance, so we we're very lucky

Oh and I also had a little petrol scooter stolen :(
yeah, got robbed once.
basically, we lived in an apartment but also had a house. we'd go to the house every weekend.
so it was time to go back to the apartment for the week, and i was putting my bike into the garage. usually i would chain it to this huge metal storage thing, but that weekend i thought i wouldn't, "what's the point?".
yeah, 3 bikes were stolen, several heaters, tv, stereo, huge speakers and everything else they could find.
never got any of the stuff back.
In the second grade I had these 6 Pokemon erasers all lined up in the bottom of my desk. You know, those big desks with the space right under the table where you can put your books and shit. Well I came back from lunch and noticed 2 of them gone. I don't remember why, but I remember that it was this 8 or 9 year old (in the fucking 2nd grade) that stole them. I asked and he acted like he didn't know. I went home and cried.
The most that's ever been stolen from me as far as I know.
It's alright we feel your pain of loss.
My mom sent home to Asia her two Windows 7 laptops to give to her sisters that are in need there. But you know how tight-knit communities are there and the poverty that exists. Well, after they've used the laptops for a couple of months, some criminals stole it.
How? When they were sleeping, early in the morning, some ninja criminals opened their window a crack and used a grabbing arm/tool to grab their cellphones and the two laptops. Worst thing about it was, they were pretending to sleep as not to anger the criminals and shoot them as was the nature of criminals there in the third world country. Shoot young women over their electronics instead of being shot by the corrupt cops, take your pick.
Were so lucky over here in the west it's almost inconceivable if you've never lived there like I have. Laptops and computers, electronics cheap and accessible.
More stories: When I was a child in Asia, some tweaked out fucker tried to break into our home during a storm. He had a machete with him and he hacked open a gate chain and lock. He was hacking away at the glass kitchen rolling door when my dad loaded his Browning Hi power pistol. That was the scariest time of my life. The guy got scared and left. Asia? PFFT. No police NO NOTHING. All men for themselves.
When I moved here to the United States, we felt safe. We let our cousins reside in our home back there in Asia. Couple months pass and we find out that same fucker came back and did the same thing. He broke open the gate, but this time my little puppy Doberman was already huge! Turns out, the asshole used a 2x4 to hit the dog on the head and kill it cold blood. But after that he left my cousins alone and was never seen again.
Really need to invest in an AK47 soon
That's fucking awesome
But I have a feeling it's fake
Things like this can happen. Go out into the world
somebody broke into my friend's car a few months ago and stole a handful of change from the cup holder
[editline]18th January 2012[/editline]
I had a civil war era saber that was owned by a rebel soldier stolen from me about 12 years ago, that was worth a bit over a grand.
Well the odd part is, im renting the apartement through my school, which rents the apartement out through the apartement itself. So im going to the school in the morning to talk to them about it. We had a room mate recently leave us 3 weeks ago. He just got up and left without even saying anything, didn't even tell the school and to our knowledge he still has the key. So HOPEFULLY we can get something down through the school cause they said they needed to replace the locks. Maybe they can give us money back as compensation
I am probably late on this, but unless you have renters insurance the school won't do shit. The agreement or lease you signed says this. I have never seen a renters agreement say anything except, "We are not responsible for damaged or stolen property, it is recommended that you secure renters insurance to cover personal belongings"
clearly a couple of money is worth more than $100-200 worth of damages to the car (if the thief broke the window or the lock).
nah he hit it with a slim jim which tells me it wasn't just some crack head who wanted his next fix, the guy probably expected something good but a handful of change is all that was there to take.
Nobody has robbed our house, but we have a lot of shit happen in the neighborhood because it is an upscale neighborhood. Stuff has been happening more frequently as well. But at the same time...I don't think anyone will want to break in to our house because we have a very visible house. At least 2-4 other homes would be able to see shit going on.
When my my house was still being built, I left my cruddy Walmart snowboard in the snow near our house. Sure enough that was stolen.
Interesting thing is, our neighborhood is somewhat tight-knit. When someone has a weirdo come to their door, or they experience a theft, they usually email everyone so people will know about suspicious shit going on.
All robbers are lowlives.
No renter's insurance...?
Thankfully my house hasn't been robbed
yet :ohdear:
still though, we have some ridiculous laws in the UK where we can't scare the thief off/ defend your property.
I have only had like a bike stolen, but if anyone ever hurt my dog I would beat the shit out of them with a baseball bat.
I had my doritos stolen and they were spicy nacho... :suicide:
I had a GPS stolen from my car once, but the worst thing I had stolen was just recently.
A guy befrended me, and pretended to be my friend for several years. He'd come over, we'd play games, you know, friend stuff. I find out he's moving. He comes over and my Ipod suddenly vanishes.
I go on a school trip with him and guess what I see. My fucking Ipod. Right there in his grubby mitts.
Fuck thieves. He even threw a trojan on my computer. Fuck. Thieves.
My dad had his Christmas decorations stolen from him when he was a kid. Funny thing is, that they were all on his roof and weighed down with rocks so the wind wouldn't blow them down. He and his father could never figure out how it was done without waking them up.
There was a time when someone broke into our apartment, the only thing that had disappeared was my old shoes.
Once me and dad were getting a dvd once and we left our old shitbox magna out the front of the store, so we get back and someone started it up and left it there. They only took the smokes and a cigarette lighter. Also here in australia everyone knows that you don't leave shit out in the front yard.(mainly bikes) Because they always get stolen.
Someone stole our flag a few years ago.
Why would you laugh at someone nearly killing you over $20?
[editline]18th January 2012[/editline]
Also my brother rides his push bike to work everyday, few weeks back someone stole his back tire.
Donno.. I guess it was the fact that I never thought it would happen to me and it was just so fucking random. I also had a little bit of alcohol in me too. Both my friends were looking at me like "wtf man"
The reason why I got pistol whipped is because I tried to check if the guy even had bullets. He was holding a revolver. When he came up to us he said "Ok you know what this is... give us the money" and then puts the revolver right on my chest. Then he pulls it away while his friend searches us. While he's doing that I start looking at the gun to see if it's even real. He notices this and hits me in the side of the head with it and says "what you think this isn't real motha fucka?!"
After they only get the $20 from us he gets mad and his friend tells us we better run before his angry friend(guy who hit me) decides to shoot us. Well we run and he shoots at us anyways.
I don't understand why I was getting so many disagrees in that post.
The most someone ever stole from me were a few of my Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh cards and about $20.00 USD.
I miss my Garados... :(.
Also Exodia and 2 God Cards...
:(
Some kid in elementary school stole my best friends shit, I was on safety patrol walked over and waved my badge in his face and told him I would be reporting him if he didn't return the stuff, my friend got it back. I was a bad ass even in my young days.
