I feel for you. I had my electronics raided from me a few years ago and I never got them back.
My house was robbed about 2 months ago. They took my Wii, my PS3, nearly all my games for both, my digital camera, my moms jewelry that belonged to her late mother, Both my dads glock and his rifle (rifle is irreplaceable, from many many years ago), and all my controllers/addons to my games. Also both of my DS's. The two thieves were busted a month later while attempting to rob a bank, both of out stuff was gone. You can never be fully protected from this stuff, but definatly get a security system if you dont have one, they WILL find a way in. The saddest part for me was that my gamecube memory card was in the wii when it was taked, it had save files clear back when me and my brother got the gamecube when it came out. Save data for over 100 games. All gone :(
I had my bike stolen once. Funny part is that I heard who had stolen it. The dumbass lived not even a block away. I went and took my bike back. I took the others bikes scattered around the yard and threw them in a bush nearby. The kid was such a dumb cunt, he deserved it. It just blows my mind that he didn't think to bring the bike inside or something.
My friend ordered limited edition Star Wars chop-sticks. They were stolen by one of the workers at a post office it stopped at. By the time he found out they were stolen, they were out of them.
I am probably late on this, but unless you have renters insurance the school won't do shit. The agreement or lease you signed says this. I have never seen a renters agreement say anything except, "We are not responsible for damaged or stolen property, it is recommended that you secure renters insurance to cover personal belongings"
I did go talk to the school today. In normal circumstances you are right, the contract we signed stated they are not responsible for stolen items, BUT the school knew about the guy who left and never returned the key, they even said they needed to replace the locks and never did. The lady told me what she knew would probably happen since this was a special case is that the amount of money worth in goods that they take would be deducted from what i pay...pretty much putting money back into my schooling so i can take out that money to get my shit back, hopefully. I just need the police to finish the report so i can give it to the school. It really urks me that some one, some where is using my shit to do what they want with.. Also is there a way to search what people post on face book? im curious to see if the people that took my shit are stupid enough to brag about it :v: Im also going to look into renters insurance after this...life lessons.
a year ago my house burned down and while we were at our temporary home waiting for the construction of our new home to be completed, some douchebag cleaned out our garage. i guess it was a good place to loot seeing as we had moved everything that was still working and not completely raped from smoke damage into the garage after the fire. roughly 30-40 grand worth of power tools, generators, electronics and personal items were stolen while we were away. we got over it but they never found out who did it. that fucker can burn in hell but im sorry to hear what happened man, hope you find the guy who did it.
When my dad had his SUV (GMC Yukon) some jerkasses stole the wheels right off it overnight and left it sitting on bricks in the driveway. Down the street a few other big trucks had their wheels stolen too. After that my dad installed motion activated floodlights, a set of security cameras, and got a Mossberg 590 and a Kimber Custom 1911 in .45 ACP. Dad don't fuck around
had a really shit push bike stolen and was found down the road missing a wheel, must have had a wheel fetish or something , fortunately no one has ever broke in.
It could be worse. You could be dead.
Any of you wonder why I don't have a scooter? It was stolen when I was 6, I never even rode it..
How would anyone even know you had a scooter?
I mentioned getting security cameras to my dad yesterday. We've got two kinda expensive motorbikes sitting right next to the back door and our driveway's completely open, so it'd be kinda easy to take them (ignoring the steering lock). He seemed kinda open to the idea, but I don't think he'd actually get any unless pressed. I reckon it'd be pretty cool, you can get network-attached ones so you can watch the live feed from your computers and that.
I'm rather surprised that forensic investigators actually showed up. My apparently was also similarly robbed about 8 years ago, but much aggressively as the door lock was completely busted. All the police did was dropped a card and told us to take care after taking a walk around the apartment. Not to mention that they showed up 3 hours after we called them.
3 hours? When I got my bike stolen they didn't even come, we had to go to the police station, after waiting 5 hours, and they told us to "go home and we'll send an officer right away". They didn't come until the day after that. I never did get the bike back. [editline]18th January 2012[/editline] Edit: the story is true, no matter how dumb it sounds
When my dad and I were repairing a house in the shitty part of town for a guy who was renting it out, kids would break in occasionally and do stupid fucking things. They would cut and burn holes in the new carpet in the living room, smear shit in the bathroom and kitchen walls (really? fucking cunts), smoke weed in the house, and put grafitti all over the walls ("fuk u u motherfukers!!!", stupid cunts), the owner called the cops, they did nothing at all. Just took fingerprints and went on their way. My dad and I were working late at night in a room facing the backyard and all the lights were off except for that room, so you couldn't see from the front the light was on. We heard someone fucking around with the front door so I grabbed his hammer, and he grabbed a fucking crowbar, waited for the kids to wander around to the back, we snuck down one by one (the way the stairs were, they couldn't see us coming down and we walked to the kitchen, hammer in hand, crowbar in his, and they turned and stared at us. The back door was nailed shut as they had busted the deadbolt from the last break in so I simply walked over, grabbed my cell from a cupboard, dialed 911 and got the cops there in an instant. Too bad they were kids in an impoverished neighbourhood and weren't protected by the Child Privacy Act or whatever the fuck it's called or else they would have gone to jail. At least I like to think they would have. Too bad
The only time I have been robbed is when I paid £5 for a can of coke in Greece. Five pounds.
People who steal bikes are the worst kind of people. I don't care if you're massively in debt and need to feed your family, you just shouldn't steal a bike. There are so many times that if your bike is stole you are pretty much stranded.

And what kind of motorbikes you got? I got a Suzuki GSF600S and a Honda CG125 sitting outside my house. (Going to hire a garage off the council to stick it in)

I'm on my second learner's licence for the motorbike but once again I haven't ridden anywhere near enough to do the test and progress my licence to the next level :saddowns: I imagine you'd have to kick pretty damn hard to snap the steering lock... I don't know what actually locks it but it seems pretty solid. Plus, if it was just kick it and there's no lock I'm sure they'd be getting stolen a lot more than I hear about. Sounds like a load of crap imo.
walking isn't that much harder than riding a bike
I go 2-3 times faster on a bike than I can achieve from walking
The only story I have is one that happened two weeks ago. My two friends were at their home, they hear a knock on the door. One goes to open it then is pushed while 3 guys enter with knives. I don't know many specific details other then my two friends just listened to what they wanted. They ended up losing their wallets, cellphones and xbox. None of the items have been returned / reimbursed.
Someone stole my doorbell the other day.Mother fuckers.
AN HOUR BEFORE AT HOME DEPOT...Robber 1: Lets seee...$50? No way.Robber 2: Lets just steal one. *pulls out a screw driver with a smirk.*
My town is a rural hellhole, and armed robberies seem to be increasing in frequency, ignoring murders and other crimes like kids lighting their backyards on fire with napalm. My father lives in one of the nicer parts of the area, which its secluded location has shielded us from harm so far. My mother on the other hand is renting out the apartment above a doctor's office, located on a road where a woman was beaten to death for her prescription drugs recently. I'm a little on edge, and sleep with a block of wood at hand. I am yet to be robbed of anything expensive (some punk with anger issues stole my Lego stormtrooper in 3rd grade and I cried). For my cousins on the other hand: life has been tough. Before moving to their new house, their home was broken into on three separate occasions. I believe what was stolen ranged from televisions and computers to clothes, toys and bikes. They never got one thing back. Another time, the eldest made about $200 selling some sort of toy-ish ATV. They left it out for the buyers and went out only to find it stolen overnight. He had to give all the money back. The buyers even brought their little kid to see it (it was for his birthday), and man that must have sucked. My grandparents live right outside of downtown in the next town over. College kids are known to make away with their benches and decorations.
Man, I'm sure every country must have spots like this but it sure makes me feel better knowing there's nearly no crime of this sort in my area in Australia. Though that said there was a taxi driver who got murdered just around the corner from me a couple of years back, my dad had to go to the cops and answer some questions because he witnessed the taxi looking weird earlier that morning.
Getting robbed is always shitty. I hope it works out for you man.
Getting robbed is always shitty. I hope it works out for you man.
yea it sucks...though im so happy they didn't take my computer, or my monitor. i'd be royally fucked if my computer was taken. i did install that program some one posted that you can activate to see where it is. Also its odd getting over that feeling that some where, some one is sitting back with your stuff and using it as their own...

I'm at Uni, someone has stolen a lot of my Cutlery. I now have 4 knives and 1 fork and 1 spoon.

The hell is wrong with Canadians?
Goodluck catching who ever took your stuff, even if they find fingerprints, they need a lead to compare those prints to. If that person isn't on record, you're buggered. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline] I can't say I was robbed per say. During a last minute move out of my apartment to get away from my room mates I came back to get the rest of my stuff I was forced to leave behind only to find about a dozen things missing/not there. Either they were smashed in anger, or taken for usefulness such as my 30 dollar crock pot. Can't say I know exactly how you feel, but I suppose it's close seeing as how I was personally betrayed.
