Happy New Year from the East Coast.
Only reason I realized it was after midnight was there were a particularly large amount of pops outside that I eventually came to the conclusion couldn't possibly be gunshots.
But this is AMERICA. It had to be gunshots.
Full tank of gas for $25, almost cried.

It was fireworks. I live near the mall, every year they have shows on the two big firework holidays.

What an American place to celebrate :v:
Probably would be if the mall wasn't either dead or trying to kill you, depending on the time of day. The economy and some big stores nearby closing hit it pretty hard.
Heard a loud crashing noise. I looked out side, saw this:

Happy New Year, everyone.

I saw that once too. I was taking my first ever AP exam when I was a sophomore and I heard a loud bang in the middle. Originally got worried it was a gunshot, but nothing really happened so everyone kept taking the test. About an hour after, my friends and I were going to get food after the exam and we saw a huge truck stuck under a bridge. I was just happy it wasn't a gunshot.
Ah yes, 11'8". Monthly recurring crashes as reliable as my utility bills.

Here in New York, bridges are apparently marked with either their actual height, or 1 foot less than actual height, with no way of knowing if it has the 1 foot "buffer" or not unless specifically marked "ACTUAL MEASUREMENT".
The best one was the truck carrying a full load of brand-new Kias almost 6 years ago.
The Artic Circle has expanded to include the upper US, apparently.
Woke up to 8 degree weather.

Certainly fucking feels like it down here. It's 23 degrees in central Georgia. Which may not sound like much to some people, but I get chilly at 70. Also I live in a house with no central heating and shitty insulation, so it's not much better inside.

5 in the north, and the walk from my car to school was hell. (I have one of the spots farthest from any door.)
According Weather Underground, it got as cold as 1.6 F where I am on Wednesday.
Thank god I sleep with 6 blankets plus a comforter :v:
I had to pull out another quilt last night. Whoever put the massive window in the front room did a poor job of insulating it.
Driving this morning was a fucking mess, either it was too cold for the road salt to work or my town didn't expect the snow to start when it did and couldn't get all the roads in time.
So I saw Air Force One fly over Knoxville a few minutes ago. You could make out the hump and tail from out here in Sevierville, 20-something miles away.
warm in arizona
Seahawks v Panthers game has been awesome so far, hope the rest of their games are this good
$1.98 per gallon in Minnesota. Probably a good thing because big trucks are sometimes needed with the damn snow storms.
Fort Worth representing. Also gas for $1.77 a gallon here.
Hey American people, brit here, I'm doing exchange year to America next year but I won't be able to legally drink.. I was wondering how you have fun at University?? I'm assuming house/college parties, it will be weird being able to drink legally at home but then going to you and feeling like a kid again ha
If you're going to parties, it really doesn't matter how old you are. Nobody really cares if you're old enough to drink when the punch bowl or keg is out in the open.
Hopefully this free community college bill passes. Would love to get my associates before I join the Marines.
Hey guys just enjoying my 80 degree high down here in Florida.

Well it's the worst State in the country, gotta make up for it somehow. :v:
Chicago finally got snow.
At least it's not last year again.
Oh I don't mind an age gap as I was just wondering what you do, as after a party here if it doesn't end too late we usually go to pubs/clubs until like 4am or something
Parties never end until everyone is passed out from the drinks.
or the cops shows up
