You know? Washington actually seems pretty nice, it's one place I'm thinking about going to when I get out of New York.
Yea, Washington has quite a few things going for it. Diverse landscape, access to the coast, and lots of companies make their home here. As for the people, well I cant speak for everywhere but the people around here are fairly nice. If you decide to live on the west side of the mountains though be prepared for overcast weather most of the time during most of the year. When it is clear it can be gorgeous though. Mountains to the east and mountains to the west and water in-between look brilliant at sunset.
Oh yea and weed is legal here too if you like that sort of thing.

I was in the LA/SF area for over 3 weeks and I swear the only fucking green thing I saw was fucking palm trees and some shrubs
whatever the fuck that is, it's certainly not near the urban areas

LA is nowhere near SF...
"i've lived in the dallas/houston area for 18 years"
if i take a picture of my grassy lawn will you believe me
san jose is pretty green (source: born/raised there)
also, los angeles is socal, san francisco is the bay area, they're like 400 miles apart... you're talking basically a tropical desert vs the scottish highlands.
People have no fucking clue if they claim Cali has no greenery, it's not even worth arguing with them because they're talking out their ass. The desert area is pretty much everything south of the grapevine (mountains just north of LA), and everything between that and SF is farmland (the central valley), and everything north of SF is green as fuck. Ever heard of a California Redwood? Sequoias? It's mass forests up there.
West coast best coast
It seems like people who disagree haven't seen any of the west coast more than shitty parts of LA. Even SoCal has San Diego if you don't like LA. There's seriously something for everyone on the west coast. If you want more greenery go to Portland or Seattle. The hipsters aren't something to actually complain about because they don't affect you. Unless you get irrationally angry just by seeing something you don't like, in which case you need therapy
Honestly if any state is a police state, it's Virginia.
I love VA - its probably one of the best states in the country. However, the traffic laws are fucking draconian. I love literally everything about VA - except for the driving laws. It's gotten the the point where I want to move out of VA just because of the driving laws. They're really that bad.
I remember you mentioned hating Maryland...but try west the west side of Virginia. Other than Roanoke, there's nothing out there. Heading south out of DC and stuff gets seriously bible-belt too, I'm looking at you Richmond.
fuckin flurries right now
winter i'm done with you shoo
It snowed four inches here overnight.
I made snow cream. It was delicious.

I suppose the polar bears will be happy
So my family is set to make a trip down to Texas this Spring. Basically as soon as we can leave without:
1. The pipes freezing exploding
2. The cats freezing
We're going to Cedar Park to look around and shit and see if it speaks to us. If we like it we'll have to start fixing up our house to sell.
Getting a Security Guard license in Texas is a bit more involved from what I can tell. In NY I just took an 8 hour course, paid NY state some $$ and I got it. Done. Apparently they have accountability in Texas for this sort of crap. On the bright side getting my armed guard license in Texas should be good-to-go compared to getting it in NY
texas here, el paso specifically
bipolar as fuck weather, but the food here is good as fuck
hooray

you can have my lemon flavour snow cream
El Paso is terrifying because if you fail to take your exit on the freeway then you're now entering Juarez, Mexico
you can have my lemon flavour snow cream
That ain't lemon, man.
No matter how long I live in Los Angeles, I will never get used to rain and then Santa Ana winds hitting me in the face like a brick.
Or rain in general, cause SoCal could use some more rain :c

I looked into that at one point, it was $75? For the unarmed guard class, and $200 for armed. Plus you'll need a pistol, duty belt, flashlight, etc. Pm me if you have any other questions.
California is amazing.
I live up in Northern California, but SF/LA/SJ is the best.
How is San Jose? I've never been there, and I don't really hear a whole lot about it. Is there much to do?
imagine the quiet mountain town from south park the movie, but with mexicans. easy way to kill time is to go to the shark tank (hp pavilion arena) if it isn't hockey there's usually mma or something going on there. sf is north of it. oh, they recently put in a casino.
oh wow i just realized i spent like an hour going through my old neighborhood on google maps.
haha literally the day after I returned to texas from minnesota it started fucking snowing
god damn it
