It's that time of year again, fellow TexasPunch. When Texans from all across the state converge on Houston for the worlds largest livestock show and rodeo.
i'm not even from Texas and I'd love to go to that.

There's also nightly concerts from big name country and non-country artists every night after the rodeos, and a smaller stage outside the stadiums.

Not seen in that aerial photo are rows of tents just past the carnival grounds, housing tons of BBQ cooking groups. They have massive competitions, but I think those were in February. Think some will still be there for the rodeo though. I'm going on the 14th so I'll check it out.

Its supposed to get "bad" later tonight through the morning.
I swear, all this salt is destroying the roads, and sidewalk around my area. Especially since each time it's snowed, and rained, they reinforce the existing salt with a dozen more pounds of the stuff. Feels like my township really overdoes it with the stuff more than they have to, and at this rate, they're going to have to end up re-paving the stuff they set up just a year or so ago.

It's suppose to start snowing, at least at my area, around 5am. I have to be at work at 6.
So I'll be driving in it at the very start and hopefully by time I'm done work around 2, snow plows have been at it all day and it's over by then. That's what I'm putting my chips down for.

My county doesn't really use salt any more. They spray this chemical stuff on the roads, I forget what they're called. Leaves like a dozen white streaks going down the streets.
Salt.
Or saline solution. My county uses the same stuff. It's just liquid so it coats better.
It's been snowing since midnight and it'll keep going all day. I still have to go to work from 1:00 to 10:00 tonight.

The only thing that bothers me about the constant snowing and raining is nearly busting my ass on the ice outside on my steps. Otherwise, I still love it all. I get a lovely view of the NJ meadowlands coated in white from here.
People who I tell I enjoy snow tell me to try driving in it. They aren't aware I have a 1.5-2 hour commute in it every day, including bumper to bumper, in sometimes apocalyptic conditions. But so what. I'll take a cozy, heated apartment with a nice snowy village view and wearing an extra jacket or two over the inescapable heat without A/C and constant motorcycles of summer.

Snowy, allright I can get behind that...
but everything is a sheet of fucking ice now, fuck walking from my car to my school with a -20 windchill, fuck shoveling 10,000 XL Slurpees whenever it fucking snows because they haven't made a snow blower that can handle that shit yet, fuck everything about this winter that isn't white and fluffy, and just below freezing with no god damn wind.

My neck gets cold. I don't like having a cold neck when I have to walk across campus in lightly-misting 28 degree weather.
I mean, I could understand it if I were wearing it when it's 50+ and I didn't have a coat, but it's the dead of winter and I have an extra five pounds of coat tacked on, plus a flannel hat.
