I reside in "Pretty Much Alabama" I want to deny that description, but...I just can't.

Revolutionary America is one of my favorite periods of history.
I actually do Revolution reenactments when I get the chance. I'm primarily a Civil War reenactor though. Don't kill me but I'm British in the Revolution, 42nd Black Watch, to be precise. Also Confederate for Civil War. [editline]11th April 2015[/editline] Also Virginia's the best state. George Washington and Robert E. Lee came from here.

Gulf of Mexico = North America's mouth about to eat Cuba.

anyone here ever perma-move from a really hot state like florida to a colder state wisconsin? how long did it take you to comfortably acclimate to the climate change?
anyone here ever perma-move from a really hot state like florida to a colder state wisconsin? how long did it take you to comfortably acclimate to the climate change?
My girlfriend's sister moved from NJ to Wisconsin. She loves never having to really be hot anymore, though NJ isn't exactly the hottest state in the country.
Ugh... I'm thinking I need to get a mole removed, but I can't get in at my doctor until the 21st. American Healthcare, everybody.

I used to hate the cold but now I hate the heat, but this may not apply to everyone. Or damned near anyone. I used to be the kinda guy who'd run to a car and crank up the heat to max if it were 40F out but now I want to pull out a fan at 70F, and have no problem with sub-zero temps so long as there's no wind.

During February and March, you can have both within a week's time, so I'm pretty used to extremes.

So yesterday morning, I had my first encounter with turkeys crossing a road. ...Across the northbound lane of I495 where all of us are going 80mph+ towards the exit to I93. I almost hit the guy in front of me trying to slam on my brakes fast enough and we were all blaring our horns trying to get them to cross faster. Anyone else have any close calls with wild animals on the highway?
I almost hit a deer a few months ago. It was just sort of standing in the middle of the street. It didn't move, so I went around it.
turkeys run through my backyard i'm just used to them, same with deer.
I get turkeys across my lawn every year. And I live "in the city". Such is life in South Jersey.
I swear there must be times when the Broken Glass Fairy decides to take her shits all over the sidewalks. I had to re-route my dog walking path like five times today because of all of these bottles ffs
We have a small bit of woods behind the house, so we get animals roaming the yard on occasion.
It's so nice out in New York!
My first road accident was a turkey to the windshield. Thank God I slowed down enough that I just had a damaged windshield and hood instead of a damaged face.

Is there any potential for skies without light pollution enough that you can see some stars at night? I love the area of North Jersey I live in, but I've always wanted to see parts of South Jersey.
