I live in a town, there are only more houses behind mine.
Help, my credit union is screwing me over. All of my Amazon textbook orders have been cancelled because my debit card's been declined, despite having over $1500 in my account. Anyone have any idea what I can do about this?
The area I live in was pretty rural until after WWII. One of the houses in my neighborhood is actually a converted barn

Are you sure you just don't have a hold on your card somehow for some kind of fraud protection?
My permanent address is a in a rich suburban Bergen county town. Right now i'm sitting in Newark with a view of a 33 Washington Street's blue lights and the top of the Lincoln Highway Bridge.
Also its snowing.
Finally on a break, I've been awake since 530 and out since 7.
Fuck the winter.
In San Francisco now.
Anyone from here? Free to meet up tomorrow in the day?

$1.39 in my hometown.
It's time for a small roadtrip. Our state isn't horrible for once! :D
I haven't check the prices, I've just been saying "fill it up' when I get to the gas station
Feels amazing to say
Apparently it's $1.90 in Washington.
$1.54 here. I know this hurts the hippies and the electric car manufacturers, but I am not complaining about $15 tanks.

Which is why northern Arizona is better. At 60-70 now.

It'd be nice if the weather could just decide what temperature it wants to be already.
They promised me to be in the 50s all week.
I wake up to find it 18 outside.
They promised it'd be in the 20s all week, but it was 57 yesterday.

So, in a couple of weeks, they're gonna be filming at my old High School for a Netflix series called "The OA". So that's kind of cool.
No idea what the show's about or how much of it will take place at the school, though. They're gonna be filming over the course of 4 days.
Here's what the school looks like, if anyone was wondering:

Dude im so excited for daylight savings, the fools scheduled my shift to end at 7, which is an hour earlier than usual already. Wooo
I got pulled over for the first time by the State Police. I've been driving for six years I guess without incident. I was on my way home and I rolled through the last stop sign before my house, the Trooper was down the hill so I didn't see him. He came up on me and lit me up like three houses down from home.
I pulled over and did all the stuff you got to do to not get shot, rolled down driverside and passenger windows, turned on the dome lights, turned off the radio and turned off the vehicle than I just left my hands on the steering wheel. He asked for my ID, told him it was in my back pocket, he told me to go ahead and get it, I gave it to him. Asked me where I was coming from, told him it was work, asked what I did and I told him Loss Prevention, I still had my jacket on with the badge that says all that. He asked where I live, told him just up on the corner two houses down. I told me I ran through the stop sign so I just apologized, than I told him the insurance and registration were in the glove box, he said not to worry about it and get home safe and let me be.
So I dunno, I guess it all worked in my favor. Doesn't hurt I'm a white kid driving a pickup truck too coming back from his security job.
I've been pulled over I think 7 times in the past 10 years I've been driving but only once have I ever gotten a ticket.
They weren't all scattered events, though, the last 3 times were all in the span of two weeks last year when my rear lights refused to work and I hadn't the time and money to get them fixed "right then and there" how each cop somehow expected me to do it. None of them wrote me a ticket, though the last one was clearly thinking about it and I just explained that if he gave me a fine I would just end up going another two weeks without repairing it. I got a written warning instead :v:
Spring weather has arrived (at MSU).
Don't care if I jinx it, this feels great.

After being pulled over/stopped a few times now and seeing your post I definitely see a pattern. Both times I've been pulled over it's been by state troopers.
(There was another time when my lady friend and I were sleeping in my Subaru and the state police decided to check up on us to make sure we weren't doing anything illegal/dead from fumes. That was hilarious, everybody sort of had a laugh that night.)
The first time, I was only two-three miles from home and I was a relatively new driver but I had forgotten to grab my wallet, which meant I didn't have my license on me. He ended up letting me go after I gave him my information to look up.
The second time, I was coming home from college and right before Ellenville I was stopped by another trooper. He pulled me over because my license plate bulb was out, I had just bought my Subaru a few days before and it didn't pass inspection because of an emissions code. I showed him the failed inspection and told him I was working on it and he let me go.
So far, I've found that being as polite and calm with them as possible has worked great. I think some people don't realize they probably get so stressed during their jobs and they tend to be tense when first approaching a situation. But if you do things like you and I did (turn car off, put keys on roof, roll windows down and talk before you do, etc) it sort of works in your favor. I always say "Hello, how are you doing?" in a friendly tone too. Usually they're pretty laid back after that.
Plus, I'm sure they don't like it when people are assholes to them.
