My wallet is going to have an orgasm
Fucking drop? Are you serious mate. Granted, this was in April, but still.
got pulled over in texas for going 85 in a 75. only got a warning tho lol.
as soon as i saw that police suv start moving i was like fuck me
also had to drive though a bunch of border patrol checkpoints. i'm a citizen but my parents are on visas and only one agent actually flipped through my parents' passports
Here in Southern NH if you're not doing at least 75 in the fast lane then you're gonna get tailgated. I even see Staties tailgate people and do probably 80-85 without their blue lights weekly. I think they've taken the stance of "If you're either tailgating/driving like a JACKASS, or doing over 100, we will bother you" because I can't tell you how many times I've blown by cops doing 80 and nothing happened. Of course, it's a bit of a different story off the highways, not that I've personally experienced it (amazingly).

IIRC, I heard on NPR that oil prices were going to break.
IIRC, it had to do with Saudi Arabia failing to make a deal with Iran to manage the prices.
im glad i reached the point of paying for my own gas now that prices are low
The best American holiday is tomorrow and this thread is barren with activity.
You're all unAmerican :v:
So who else is going to have a bbq and nearly blow their hand off with fireworks?
Also fuck the British

I was gonna bump this thread but you beat me to it.
Had the bbq today, damn good hot dogs.
A friend of mine already has shrapnel in his back. Don't know why we didn't have the guy wearing an M1969 flak vest doing the stupid shit, but hindsight is 20/20.
But this is AMERICA SO WE DO WHAT WE WANT.
So, how about this heat?
Is this what New Mexico feels like? [lived my whole life in North East US]
When can we end the oppression of the sun
not too bad here and i'm in sierra vista az
it was like 90 degrees today.
of course i spend 23 hours a day inside an air conditioned office or apartment so
I spent my whole day inside a warehouse that has barely any temperature control because the outbound truck doors are so big that any potential cold air that accumulates while they're closed instantly goes away when they're opened.
thread bump for freedom.
Gas is going up to a wopping $2 a gallon again
What will we ever do :v:
last i saw it was $2.20 around here
I'm from New Jersey and going to college in Texas, and upon reading up on the Texas Revolution and early Texas history I'm kinda sad that we don't learn more about it up north. We glossed over it for like a chapter as part of the Mexican-American war in the leadup to the Civil War in my US History II class in high school, but apparently Texas schools have anywhere from one to two years worth of just Texas history classes. So much cool history that applies to the U.S. (it's how we got one of our largest single pieces of territory!) that we just don't go over. Plus, I never really thought about how different history lessons can get in different areas of the country.

States ought to have some state history in their schools. My father who grew up in Pittsburgh was able to take "Western Pennsylvania History" when he was in high school. But New Jersey (where I am too) just doesn't seem to care.
My US History I teacher outright said at the begging of class in HS that "this course is boring, US History II is where all the fun is and excitement is, so I'll skip over the more uninteresting parts"
Like....as boring as it could be, every part of history, especially in that period, is still important, why would you skip it because "it's boring"?

I feel like we in New Jersey could learn a lot more about the history of different regions of the US if we didn't go over the Revolutionary War like three times. I seriously learned about it once or twice each in elementary, intermediate, and high school.
We are the "cross roads of the revolution".
But when you look more closely at it, that's not really that impressive. Really we were just the road the armies took from one state to the other; NJ itself wasn't really that important outside the crossing of the Delaware for Washington (which victories weren't even strategic, they were purely to boost morale).
i'm back in the east coast and oh god kill me i hate humidity
[editline]28th August 2016[/editline]
i want to go back to arizona
Anyone else from Wisconsin?

This is why New York is better, atleast we matter
This is why New York is better, atleast we matter
this is what's wrong with ny as well, they think they matter (nothing personal towards you, i mean the state as a whole).

That's because New York is the greatest State in the fuckin Union [sp] We're prideful mofos about our state [/sp]
Speaking of different states, I'm looking into possibly moving to Delaware at some point in a few years. Anyone here from that state to give any pointers on where's best to live or any job opportunities?
I currently work in NJ right across from the Delaware Memorial Bridge so driving from Delaware to my job in the northern part of the state would be preferable.
