So I have been on steam for a while... for say... about 5 years? This was near the beginning.
Okay, so let me give you some background of my steam account. Well, at first, I got a steam account that my father and I shared, he bought the games and him and I played them. I went a long while playing fun gamemodes on HL2DM, even RP ones. Then I made my own account and bought my games.
Then comes along Garry's Mod, in which my friend Kya (full: Zekya) showed me (No I am not in Japan, his parents wanted a unique name as he tells me...)
So I played on Garrysmod for quite some time. Here was the heart breaker: One day, I tried to log on to Steam, and I was prompted with a message saying "This account has been disabled." And I began to shit my pants.
Days later I remembered my fathers old account, and he NEVER uses it now, so I asked him for it, seeing as my old account got hacked, and the idiot got it disabled. So I purchased GMod yet again, and was fine for a while.
Of course, you guessed it, someone tried to hack me again. When I tried to log on, I saw a "Incorrect Login" message prompted at me every time I logged in, and I KNEW I was using the right login info. I ended up contacting steam via E-Mail, with the product key and everything that they required to get an account back. Well, YES! We successfully got it back, and the 8 digit number password that it was changed to, I have kept and memorized since.

So yesterday I was enjoying myself on my favorite gamemode, Trouble In Terrorist Town.
This story will be briefed by chat logs (to the best of my memory because we were using mics) And It's shortened to get rid of unessential detail.
Me: 'Its Zealous! Its Zeal-"
Zealous: "No don't he shot at me!" (In which I accidentally shot him while trying to throw a smoke toward who I thought was the enemy, so he fucking went all out with his SG.)
(((About 1 hr later)))
Zealous: Yeah I Think that its Caleb.
(I didn't realize that he called me by my name!)
Me: Wait What did you call me?
Zealous: Caleb.
(A long pause...)
Me: How the fuck did you figure out my first name?
Zealous: Add me to your friends list Caleb.
Me: No
Me: Fuck No.
Zealous: Add me Caleb, or you will regret it.
Me: Hell no, not until you tell me where and how, if I do, know you.
Zealous: Add me Caleb.
(Then a guy named "Nin" comes into the story)
Nin: Add us Caleb.
Zealous: I know where you live.
Me: MmmHmm.... and where is that?
Zealous: *Lists my address in full*
At this point I start panicking, as He knew my name, and where I lived, and All the games I had.
Me: Don't fucking hack me, it's already happened twice.
Zealous: I said fucking add us and nothing bad will happen to you....Caleb.....
Me: IM NOT GOING TO ADD YOU MOTHERFUCKER! (I was panicked) NOT UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE!
Zealous: You are going to regret this Caleb. Hope you don't like your father.
That was it. My steam account is still here, but I am clueless as to what I should expect. He also said I had hurt him in the past, which I have no idea what he was talking about. I just thought you guys would like this read,and would maybe have some suggestions.[/QUOTE]

Why the fuck didn't you retrieve your fist account? I was hacked too, and I just asked Steam support. They are some real nice guys, and it all took 2 days, and that is because of me shooting shitty Pictures of my Orange box key which I had to send to them.

Old thread, but I have a funny story.
One time, a few years ago, a guy on GMod was bragging that we'd never be able to guess his first name. I looked at his in-game GMod profile thing and noticed that he listed his website on there. I decided to mess with him, so I did a whois lookup on his domain using the Steam browser. I easily found out what what his name was and then told him.
It really freaked him out :v:

Reading this made me even more paranoid about getting hacked and such..
It amazes me how many people don't read post dates before posting. That's the first thing I look at when entering a thread.
