• Trolls vs. the rest of the internet

I do not officially troll, I do something I like to call "innocent trolling" whereas you don't make fun of the person but you just say something that makes other people laugh and just overall feel funny. An example being if there is a video of an extremely hot chick just talking about news and such, I leave a comment saying "Is it wrong if this gave me a boner?", doesn't hurt the chick's feelings, and is funny at the same time.
I troll people that deserve to be trolled. I generally don't go around trolling innocent people.
Trolling was better back in my day recently some idiot friend-of-a-friend on facebook asked a question on my friend's wall. "What is [whatever]". My friend hadn't responded for a few hours so I dropped a quick reply and within a few minutes they replied back: "RYAN O'CONNOR = TROLLED. TAHT IS ALL" He didn't even bait-and-switch, or do anything. I just said "that's pitiful" and went on with my facebooking, but soon my notifications started filling up. he and several other of his friends just started piling up "TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO U MAD? U MAD BRO? HE MAD LOL UMAD" shit. Several then started posting the same junk on my wall, I don't think I've had to block anyone before but it wasn't anything rageworthy. I think the only part of this 'trolling' that makes me mad at all is simply that "U MAD" was a promising troll tactic, but people don't even wait til someone is steaming to blurt it out anymore. I've even seen it as the START of a conversation. Sure, people will get mad if you just keep it up, but you have to be stupid to even get that far. It's the internet equivalent of "I'm not touching you... I'm not touching you..." I miss the days where trolling was elaborate, it drew someone into a trap and put them through the runs. Terrible stories, strange links, involving pranks. I think the internet would be a better place without /b/ level retardery. Hell, even /b/ isn't that bad anymore, it's the reddit ragecomic kinda people that just run around making trouble in the neighborhood. I got in one little argument and garry got scared, and said "you're moving with VNL and Mikfoz to GMF". I PM'd for a link and when it was sent back, the guy's name was "FRESH" and he had dice in his avatar. If anything I could say this user was deaf, so I signed "yo holmes get to GMF". I came to a thread about 7 or 8, and I PM'd the poster and typed "love your mustache!" Looking at my kingdom I was finally here, and that's how I used to troll yesteryear
Well if you well in the youtube drama lately, we got this brett keane fellow, that keeps thinking he's a superstar and destroys troll. Sounds familiar. He thinks he's highly over intelligent enough to defeat people in debates. The guy is the most fucking scam artist on youtube, and thinks so highly on himself. People have his dox, "exposed" him for who he really is and just false flags videos about him who dislike him. Full information on Brett D Keane who lives in Fetus. I mean Festus. http://www.encyclopediadramatica.ch/Brett_Keane Some guy named Straightd0pe challenged Bret to a debate on blogtv and absolutely pwned him, though his response after was filling false DMCAing on him. But it's basically shit no one cares about.
The U MAD trolling shit is sad, overused and not at all funny. The best trolling is almost practical joke-like. Not sure if I still have the picture, but the facebook status about how he apparently sexually assaulted a women ending up with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air lyrics was a masterpiece. That's trolling. Not the stuff people think is trolling now.
I can't help but find myself trolling people on youtube. Half of its community just brings it upon themselves.
I never trolled (maybe 2 or 3 times but only bad manner people).

It's way to fun to do, I think I did it once, I had the most epic laughter of my life time. But I regret it since it can hurt other peoples feeling, or just plain out get them mad.
I think trolling when done with some actuall skill instead of just going "U MAD FAGIT LOL" is quite fun. For example I called this girl a monster for not liking pancakes. She was a stuckup bitch who disliked me so decided to tell me how I wasn't allowed to speak to her. At the end of the argument I just said "I don't even like pancakes" Trolling is about getting somebody to that raged state.
90% of trolls are not trolls but are just plain annoying.
what you said is funny because its almost fucking true.
I know they shouldn't bother me, but they do anyway. I'm not sure why; maybe it's just my inner burning hate for stupid people. I don't know why someone would pretend to be stupid just to get a rise out of someone.
Because they get a reaction. That's the point.
well everyone hates the real life trolls; Westboro Baptist Church.
Trolling is funny when it is done right and everyone gets a laugh, even the ones who are getting trolled. Now the facebook trolling and other "U mad?" types of trolling are very annoying and repetitive, while it does get a reaction it's a mean and hatefilled one more than one everyone can have a good laugh about.
if pranks can be counted as trolling, sure, its fun as long as its not the kind of stuff that'll wipe clean your bank account or fill your computer with viruses. but being annoying and insulting anything that has the ability to speak is just, well, annoying and stupid.

To me, 'shut up, go troll someone else' isn't being frustrated, it's just telling them to fuck off. I do that to trolls too, and I'm not frustrated when I say it. I feel more.. tired of it, because I know they're repetitive and pathetic trying to make me angry. Again, my view of trolling may be skewed since I see trolling as more of a practical joke kind of thing and something of a way to waste people's time instead of trying to make people angry.

They understand umad, and nothing more. They realize that any sort of reply to umad implies they are mad, and that a lack of reply implies they are mad. But much more than that, they don't even know is possible. At my school I'm revered as a master troll and I never did a single thing. I just win most of the debates/arguments that I get into, and anyone around it will suddenly start laughing and yelling "LOL HE MAD" and "YOU GOT TROLLED" (and yes, they actually say LOL out loud). Yet the funny thing is, I've never liked anything related to trolls, and trolling in general. Most people just have a gross misunderstanding of trolling, and think that anything where there can be any sort of frustration is instant trolling.
depending on what group you interact with, trolling can be terribly misunderstood. For instance, Deviant Art- if you leave a comment that says something like "you probably need to work more on anatomy" or "what was the joke, I don't get it", you're faced with people upset out the ass about it calling you a troll, blocking your comments, reporting things, writing angry journals and even calling their many 'friends' to come and raid your page and leave nasty comments about shit as revenge because you are obviously a master troll of the highest order and deserve all hell

Real trolls are dangerous beasts, however what most people think of as trolls today are generally just assholes or kids. as a result the real trolling isnt pointed out and goes unnoticed, as the "thats not trolling" thing is just as common as the troll accusation.

All of you trolled someone when u got bored or something. So stop bitching.
I rarely troll. If I do, it's just for the laughs of everyone. I'd post some videos but I don't want to be blamed for self-advertising. I also ignore trolls. They are very easy to ignore, infact. I don't know how some people just get so caught up on... well... focusing on them.
that's the problem with retarded trolls is that even in just telling them they're terrible trolls they just think they're winning I honestly don't see a way the "u mad" argument can be countered without them derping it up even more, even by ignoring it. It's an amazing troll tactic, but I don't think the people who use it understand the intricacies past "LOL HE MAD"
What are you talking about? "u mad" is a terrible way to troll. In my experience the best way to respond is as submissive as possible. Say you are indeed mad, and also tell him how it's turning you on, say you desperately want to suck his cock while he degrades you. It always works. But you know "xD I TROL U EPIC TROLLLOL U MAD BRO U MAD" isn't trolling, right? You absolutely need to be subtle if you want to be a good troll. Never go all out, just enough to sting, then gradually more and more. You never say you're a troll, and you always deny it if someone calls you out on it. Tell them it's your honest opinion, be frustratingly (ie trollingly) stubborn about it, even if you've run out of arguement. For example, I recently played in a TF2 clan server where that one girl who never stops using voice chat about nothing, and all her male clanmates respond to every word (we've all played with that girl) got votekicked. Alltalk was off, so I did a server mod votekick her for micspamming loud rap music. (See the specific details I made up?) I told the other team they couldn't hear it because they weren't on our team, and the non-clan members who didn't know she was a girl (they'd never kick a girl if they knew it) believed me and backed up the vote. So then, the menu to vote popped up, and most people hit 1 either not knowing it was for a server regular, or trying to switch to their primary weapon. It passed, she got banned, and all the other clan guys whined about losing the local attention whore. They told me she wasn't micspamming, but I never said "LOL I TROLD U EPIC WIN U MAD." I said she was micspamming, and even though they were on her team, and I said they weren't. They said I abused the votekick system, and I said democracy chose to kick her, not me. Even when they got me permabanned by an admin (and I didn't even break any of the few rules they had, that's how mad they were) I never said I was trolling. Once you confirm you are a troll and remove all doubt, they ignore every word you say. You don't want that. You ALWAYS need an excuse for your trolling, like if you're going to block a door for example, say you're AFK or something. Just my advice. There's a art to this thing, you know?
