that's what I mentioned in a different comment, was that the "LOLOLOL U MAD BRO I TROL U!!" idiots aren't subtle or tactical with it, they just blurt it out as the start, body, and end of their 'trolling'
All of you trolled someone when u got bored or something. So stop bitching.
read the thread before posting
I don't always troll, but when I do, it's not retarded stuff like ruining the fun and yelling "LOL U MAD BRA". Fun things, like strangling someone and stuffing them down a garbage chute in SS13 or riding around in my flying penismobile in gmod.
I have a friend who is one of those kids who doesn't know the true meaning of a troll, and it pisses me off SO MUCH when I try to explain it to him and he just says "No it's not, it's this" etc. Which makes me question if he trolls about trolling, but I really think he's just stupid. and it pisses me off. P.S. I hate tumblr kids who are like "LOL, look at the TUMBLR faces! So funny!" And I'm like "Stfu, it's troll faces, jack ass. They didn't originate from tumblr... -_-" I don't know. EVERYONE on the internet pisses me off. EVERYONE.
I'm okay with people trolling about if it's all in good fun, but doing it simply to make people they dislike is a bit harsh. What I'm not okay with is people branding everyone who has different opinions as trolls.

I've been banned many times from different things for literally just having a different opinion than the admin. Not even arguing with the admin, just stating I have an opinion. I get banned for trolling.

I know I've seen it where a mod in other places just doesn't want any competition or argument since they're a mod and ~obviously~ can't be wrong, but at the same time people have to watch HOW they voice their opinion. If you're an argumentative bitch about it, yeah, you might get banned.
I'm very uncertain about how far trolling has gone. I mean, some trolls don't just say the simple things to make you made, but do it in a more realistic way. Don't know if anyone might know what I'm talking about, but when you for example stumble upon a post which you really can't decide wether it's troll or real opinion. Another example of something similar is something I've experienced. Two people I know voted for the worst democratic group in our country. They really mean to vote on them, because they want them to get power for the next 4 years, so that then all the "real supporters" see how awful that group actually is. Isn't that a sort of trolling, just really complex? I mean, wanting the bad guys to get power, so that their supporters see how awful they'll make things.
Because flying black hawks in BC2 with c4 on them into tanks is fun. [editline]16th October 2011[/editline] I don't really troll at all.
it depends what trolling you're speaking about. griefing is fine by me but i can't be bothered enough to do half the shit trolls like bluespike and clyde cash have ever done.
I really hate how all sarcasm or negative opinion is now seen as trolling. If I am saying that I don't like something for X reason, that's trolling somehow. But people who go out of their way to actually troll . Yeah, they're idiots. It's just stupid in how its a term thats tossed around so much.
We're all trolls. Don't deny it. I actually like getting trolled, I find it funny.
One reason I would troll is because I like to make opinionated people mad... And I think that is why others do... For example: A good amount of the internet hates furries (I don't blame them... look at the worst steam profile thread O_O) and there are the trolls who get furry porn sprays and spray them for the reason that the people who hate furries will be mad. Hell, I have done it and that is usually what it is in my experience. Another example is the "Brony" whateverthatiscalled. Some of them make their picture and name "Rainbow Dash" for the only reason of pissing off the people who are against ponies/bronies/whateveritis. So it is mainly to make people who are against _____ angry.
Another example is the "Brony" whateverthatiscalled. Some of them make their picture and name "Rainbow Dash" for the only reason of pissing off the people who are against ponies/bronies/whateveritis.
This is surprisingly easy. I've been posting a weekly episode summary in the News section of another forum (which shows News threads on the front page) just to get everyone going, and it hasn't failed me yet.
I pretty much only troll in MMORPGs. Just some people really seem to deserve it, and it's always funny.
I used to get trolled pretty hard, but I'm pretty numb to it now. It's pretty easy to ignore them, but it's also pretty fun to be one. I've done it, and it's definitely a stimulating activity, like psychological warfare.
Good trolls don't fight the entire internet, rather, they bring joy to it. Then there are these shitty trolls we have today, that don't even try to be witty or smart and just spam random crap in a stale attempt at humor.
On the internet troll is someone who has a different opinion than you, at least that's how youtube portrays them. Most people don't even know what troll is, mainly old people or computer illiterate ones.
On the internet troll is someone who has a different opinion than you, at least that's how youtube portrays them. I knew this guy, we were friends, well internet friends. Then one day he snapped, out of nowhere he was being a complete asshole to me. Then he claimed that he was pretending to be my friend for a good year and a half, which I assume was bullshit. For the next year he would stalk me and literally spend every waking moment thinking up ways he could piss me off. None of them worked. He claimed to be a "master troll" even though he always failed to piss me off. One day I blocked him, tired of his idiocy. According to my friends who he talked to, he was seriously emotionally devastated. One said he did a mic chat and he could tell he was holding back some serious tears. I felt kinda bad, so I unblocked him, I tried to apologize for whatever I did to him long ago that made him snap like that. He just raged at me again, screamed like a little asshole. I blocked him and we've never spoken every again. I regret nothing. May he die in a hole. Amen.
I, for example, believe the OP is a troll because he made a thread about trolling as though it were a valid topic and a controversial issue that needed debate. Is there a reason this thread isn't in GD?
I think your the only troll here, mister.
Trolling was better back in my day recently some idiot friend-of-a-friend on facebook asked a question on my friend's wall. "What is [whatever]". My friend hadn't responded for a few hours so I dropped a quick reply and within a few minutes they replied back: "RYAN O'CONNOR = TROLLED. TAHT IS ALL" He didn't even bait-and-switch, or do anything. I just said "that's pitiful" and went on with my facebooking, but soon my notifications started filling up. he and several other of his friends just started piling up "TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO U MAD? U MAD BRO? HE MAD LOL UMAD" shit. Several then started posting the same junk on my wall, I don't think I've had to block anyone before but it wasn't anything rageworthy. I think the only part of this 'trolling' that makes me mad at all is simply that "U MAD" was a promising troll tactic, but people don't even wait til someone is steaming to blurt it out anymore. I've even seen it as the START of a conversation. Sure, people will get mad if you just keep it up, but you have to be stupid to even get that far. It's the internet equivalent of "I'm not touching you... I'm not touching you..." I miss the days where trolling was elaborate, it drew someone into a trap and put them through the runs. Terrible stories, strange links, involving pranks. I think the internet would be a better place without /b/ level retardery. Hell, even /b/ isn't that bad anymore, it's the reddit ragecomic kinda people that just run around making trouble in the neighborhood. I got in one little argument and garry got scared, and said "you're moving with VNL and Mikfoz to GMF". I PM'd for a link and when it was sent back, the guy's name was "FRESH" and he had dice in his avatar. If anything I could say this user was deaf, so I signed "yo holmes get to GMF". I came to a thread about 7 or 8, and I PM'd the poster and typed "love your mustache!" Looking at my kingdom I was finally here, and that's how I used to troll yesteryear
"LOOOLOOLOLO I TROLLLED U" is the dumbest shit ever I normally just reply "Omg no plz dont trolololololo me nooo xD good one!" or something equally as stupid, to bait them into saying more, and keep replying with practically the same thing, "Wow ur dum trole" "Stop trole", "OMG IM GOING TO CYR" etc completely waste their time
depending on what group you interact with, trolling can be terribly misunderstood. For instance, Deviant Art- if you leave a comment that says something like "you probably need to work more on anatomy" or "what was the joke, I don't get it", you're faced with people upset out the ass about it calling you a troll, blocking your comments, reporting things, writing angry journals and even calling their many 'friends' to come and raid your page and leave nasty comments about shit as revenge because you are obviously a master troll of the highest order and deserve all hell
I've seen a few people trace others art, so I told them they draw like shit and traced someone elses art, linking the original artist to that picture was a fun day.
You can't even troll the stupid people because they have no idea they got trolled. That's what happens when shit goes mainstream
You can't even troll the stupid people because they have no idea they got trolled. That's what happens when shit goes mainstream
someone says they trolled you when you master trolled them but really they were the ones trolled
I've seen a few people trace others art, so I told them they draw like shit and traced someone elses art, linking the original artist to that picture was a fun day.
I think it's actually pretty funny critiquing obviously traced work, they fight back so hard because they thought the original image was perfect, thus why they traced.
someone says they trolled you when you master trolled them but really they were the ones trolled
I had a friend who was a admin on a gmod server I had a while back. I removed his admin ship for him being a general douche bag to me. He got mad and spammed the annoucements page with 40+ annoucements on my steam group for the server. He's like, "YOUR REPLYING I'M WINNING BECAUSE I'M GETTING A REACTION oUT OF YOULOL". The whole time I'm sitting there thinking "Dude, how are you winning? The only thing your showing is that you pretty much don't have a life" The point is, people pick trolling over friendship. And thats why I hate it.
the government should be allowed to ban trolls from the internet or something [editline]18th October 2011[/editline] seriously, trolling would stop forever
the government should be allowed to ban trolls from the internet or something [editline]18th October 2011[/editline] seriously, trolling would stop forever
Nonono government shouldn't interfere because stupid people reply to trolls. Stop being stupid and trolls will be the problem of yesterday.
I think it's actually pretty funny critiquing obviously traced work, they fight back so hard because they thought the original image was perfect, thus why they traced.
Sometimes they go "What? I don't recall tracing it!" to try and act innocent. Its utter madness. Claiming to be the original artist/writer of stolen work is the dumbest thing you can possibly do. References and getting ideas from, then turning it into what you'd like it to be is one thing, completely copying is another. Its also one of the best ways I can think of to anger/annoy the hell out of someone, being a copy cat. also, perfect image daijitsu is a true artist
Much like when a person gets hurt, it's funny. It kinda has the same effect when your "trolling." I find it quite amusing to question a person that attempts to insult me, I ask them if they did it to offend me. They stand quiet. Then I go on about how incompetent and illiterate they are. They get mad. I ask them if they are mad bro. Edit:
I think it's the other way around, after observing the recent wave of /b/ attitudes at my school. They understand umad, and nothing more. They realize that any sort of reply to umad implies they are mad, and that a lack of reply implies they are mad. But much more than that, they don't even know is possible. At my school I'm revered as a master troll and I never did a single thing. I just win most of the debates/arguments that I get into, and anyone around it will suddenly start laughing and yelling "LOL HE MAD" and "YOU GOT TROLLED" (and yes, they actually say LOL out loud). Yet the funny thing is, I've never liked anything related to trolls, and trolling in general. Most people just have a gross misunderstanding of trolling, and think that anything where there can be any sort of frustration is instant trolling.
I too suffer from that problem at my school, internet culture should have never left the internet.
the government should be allowed to ban trolls from the internet or something [editline]18th October 2011[/editline] seriously, trolling would stop forever
yep and you also wouldn't be allowed to have an opinion either if they did the Internet would be fucked, badly
Much like when a person gets hurt, it's funny.
