Extinction looks fun but nowhere near fun enough to drop $60 on this. Might get on sale.
Can he seriously not play a game at 30fps? I'd be lucky to even get that and I'm fine with it.
I stopped buying anything IW since MW3 because that was shit, Treyarch should spit off and do their own IP like I said in another thread, vietnam or another cold war setting game is what Treyarch can do they have some great story telling, you'd be lying if you said you didn't enjoy BLOP1 campaign
I was amazed at how good the blops 2 campaign was, I am serious. You could choos your guns/perks/equipement for the mission, which is damn awesome; and there was attention to small details - if you didn't make it in time to stop an enemy from escaping on plane(plot), then you will have one outcome, but if you did, you get a completely another one. [sp]You can even shoot the Mason Junior's best buddy as a choise and play entire mission as another person, changing the ending a bit [/sp] That's why I like Treyarch - their colodooty games are actually good.

Being able to choose your loadout is a relatively small but great addition to the typical modern military shooter on-rails campaign. Battlefield 4 has it as well.
You know the only reason IW's COD get's free pass's isn't because it's neither good or bad.
It's in.
Like how Pogs and pet rocks, and others before it.
You're not in at Grade-High school, until you say how awesome you were at COD last night pwning noobilze.
That's why people still bother to waste possibly a total of $110 ( for the game and the season pass).
Not because it's good, and not because it's bad.
Because it's what's in right now.
Also I'm gonna rag on the dlc a bit. So for $50, from the Ghosts pass, I get some crap map packs?
But for $30 for the Borderlands 2 Pass I got:
-A fun pirate based dlc about finding a grand treasure
-A testosterone fueld biker arena rampage, with the awesome Mr. Torgue.
-A hunt with Sir Hammerlock, one of the greatest characters to exist
-Playing dungeons and dragons with Tiny Tina, and best of all [sp]Meeting Butt Stallion.[/sp]
Sorry but if a $30 dlc gives me more than $50 cheap shoddily designed maps, then IW has failed as a company.
Wait, hold the phone, HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE. Visible health bar? Gradual regen? This is impossible; Infinity Ward actually did something right for once!
But it's still not enough of an excuse to make Ghosts worth buying; if Extinction were a discounted standalone maybe it'd be verging on acceptable, but it's not, so don't even try to bother.

I always assumed people bought CoD because they liked playing it.
Y'know it's a real shame, extinction mode actually looks like good fun. I get the feeling that if it had simply been a standalone game with it's own budget and development team it could have been something actually worth the money.
I hope Treyarch's new colodooty will have something different from Zombies. [sp]robots. Because it's future[/sp]

I'm guessing he complained about no fov slider?
I'm guessing he complained about no fov slider?
Well yet again it's not in the game, so take a while guess.
[sp]yes[/sp]
I'm guessing he complained about no fov slider?
It's a very valid complaint however. We've gotten far enough for every single developer to acknowledge that it's a must, yet IW just straight out doesn't care.
There are a lot of people, including me, that can get motion sickness from playing at the miniscule amount of 55 in fov (or whatever this horrible excuse for a game has).

The default FOV in ghosts is awful. Made me sick really fast.

Wait, so are those weapon models as shit as they are normally? Not because FoV screws it up?
And of course I mentioned what IW's doing about external FoV changers on the first page, the whole matter is just kinda despicable. The launch is utter garbage, issues all over the place, and Infinity Ward chooses on the launch day to snap at a FoV changer with a Cease and Desist over everything else.
-nvm, a lot of incorrect bullshit in that one for now-
Haha, you can still hear the classic grenade bouncing sound that dates back to Call of Duty 1
I can only hope that's intentional
Wait, so are those weapon models as shit as they are normally? Not because FoV screws it up?
Nah, he had a mod to change the FoV. IW have started banning people who use it, though.

Why make a new sound for something so minor?
I never got why people want every little animation/sound remade for every game.
The level of reusing old assets in this game is ridiculous though.
Why do people always seem to gravitate towards Past History?
Why not go even crazier and go another few decades in the future?
I felt like it was for the better that the BO2s campaign was unrealistic because it was actually fun.
the future is cool but i liked how they set out black ops 1 and black ops 2 flashback missions, it had an indescribable feel to them which made it interesting

I like the history they added into the games. I know Call of Duty isn't historically accurate but I love that they managed to explore the later years of WW2, Invasion of Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and US invasion of Panama.
And that the characters you play as (in the Black Ops series) aren't part of the actual events making the history or changing it to fit the games story. They're showing it off while you're on your own mission.

Because the sound wasn't very good to begin with ten years ago
Normally I'd be fine with it because at this point it's almost nostalgic, but with such an unbelievable budget, you'd think they'd be able to replace it
If Rockstar could do it for GTA V, IW could surely do it for CoD

A++ reload animation on the AK-12.

He represents the high-end PC demo, it only makes sense for him to complain about low FPS when he has a computer that could make NASA consoles blush.

Attention to details is very important.
Christ, even the way the character holds the pistol looks like a placeholder.
no one just sticks their pistol out straight ahead with one hand while running. or even holds it with only one hand.

i do have to admit that the magnified optics are nice. the optic itself is magnified and the surrounding space goes out of focus, not just the whole screen zooming in with the scope overlaid on top
I understand having the same death animations in multiplayer and maybe a few reloading animations for the weapons throughout the series to lower costs. But that just takes the bloody cake.
That's the sad thing though is that they shouldn't HAVE to reuse anything or do shit to lower costs. The game series has made billions of dollars and we wait every year for a game on the same, slightly modified engine with the same gameplay and shitty SP. If they actually put those billions of dollars into actual effort and making the game new each time, they could easily still be a top AAA game series for a long time but they're just in it for a paycheck every year and calling it good, as evidenced by them basically saying they're never going to make anything except CoD. That's where Treyarch shines is they consistently give us a different game each time.
WaW was an awesome addition to the WW2 scene, Blops explored time periods that hadn't been covered much at all, Blops 2 took it into the future and each time they consistently add more content, make changes to the loadout system, everything. Ghosts is still using the same loadout as every IW CoD since CoD4 barring the perk system. If IW would put in the time and money reaching towards the quality Treyarch puts out, this game could still rival Battlefield or even be better. But at this point, it would just be best for IW to hand the reigns over to Treyarch completely and let Treyarch do another game or two before laying it to rest.
[editline] November 7, 2013 [/editline]
Also i feel like, for Extinction, they were just like "well, people like zombies...and Saints Row 4 did aliens and people were okay with it...LET'S DO ZOMBIES BUT WITH ALIENS"
I'm glad that means Black Ops 2 gets to live for another year. I wanted to get it anyway for Mob of the Dead.
Reusing an animation is one thing. Reusing the animation for the ending cut scene from you previous game is another thing entirely.
It's not the ending. The video states that it's MW2's ending. Nowhere does it say that it's Ghost's ending.
That scene in Ghosts actually takes place near the beginning of the game.
