In the future, your damaged, hull breached ship and it's passengers can survive atmospheric reentry with nothing but a non-sealed breathing mask for protection.
Yeah this guy was dead before he hit the ground.
damn, was hoping for a titan a.e. sequel
Whelp, time to re-watch Titan A.E.
Doesn't look good in the slightest. The only redeeming factor I can see is the fact that Will Smith is the lead role.
Saddening almost.

[sp]guess who's directing[/sp][sp]plot twist![/sp]
Oh fuck, M. Knight Shamwow?
yep M. Nite Shamalamadingdong directing
M. Bison Schlong-a-dong cant make movies
I'm guessing your argument is being supported by examples of present day life supporting inter-stellar space ships not getting hit by asteroids? Plus we don't know the circumstances of said emergency so we can't really make assumptions.
You do realize how piss easy it would be to detect and evade asteroids right? Even in the asteroid belt, each one is hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of kilometers apart and could be detected by radar or thermal sensors long before they became a threat.
Since it's an M Night, here's the twist:
[sp]They never actually make it to the planet. The whole movie happens in Will's or son's head in the few moments between hull breach and death.[/sp]
[del]Bruce Willis[/del] Will Smith was a ghost the whole time!
Looks interesting, seems pretty cool that humans have had to leave Earth.
Just make a I Am Legend 2 already, i want to see how it continues after the ending..
Just make a I Am Legend 2 already, i want to see how it continues after the ending..
Which ending though?
Would have been better had they done something similar to the book IMO.
Some people attended a test screening a couple of weeks back, and according to them (ending spoiler) [sp]there is no twist, so being a Shyamalan movie that's a twist in itself [/sp] :v:
What if the twist was that during the whole ad capaign and start of the movie the director is never mentioned once (so the vast majority of people dont even clue into it) and then at the end it says DIRECTED BY M NIGHT SHAMALAN
that would be one hell of a meta twist

This is what I thought when I checked wikipedia
Honestly this looks like it has a high chance of being pretty bad on the likes of John Carter and Prometheus. I'm willing to suspend disbelief but it seems like we are currently in a wave of high-production CGI sci-fi movies with super "otherworldly" stuff and action thrown in that look cool only in a trailer but the movie itself has zero substance in the plot, writing, etc. In other words sci-fi that is just done for the sake of looking cool and having colorful effects instead of actually being a good sci-fi movie
That terrible "animal CG" that everyone and their mother uses for monsters doesn't help this. And not to mention the Avatar feeling was strong with this trailer
I thoroughly enjoyed Prometheus. Even though there were some major plot flaws, the movie itself was far from bad, methinks.
But this movie... I don't see it as being very good.
The movie doesn't look very interesting to me only the CGI seems high quality. After learning who's directing I have even less interest in the movie.
But my main issue just from watching the trailer. It's far future and all they have as a weapon is a telescopic double-bladed sword?
What if all the humans had to leave because of the plants
Oh my god it's a sequel to the happening
"Welcome to Earff"

Is it strange that I'm disappointed?
made by m. night shiggydiggy
not entirely sure about this
;38789520']I thoroughly enjoyed Prometheus.
How can you thoroughly enjoy a movie in which characters that don't matter don't do anything for 2 and a half hours?
How can you thoroughly enjoy a movie in which characters that don't matter don't do anything for 2 and a half hours?
how do you think these movies sell or are even viable/big blockbusters in the first place
explosions and cgi with sci fi thrown in

ah cool then!
The music sounds awesome, that's at least one thing to be excited about.
Will Smith's voice is so god damn awesome.

So he ripped off LOST?
I honestly think that this looks goddamn amazing and I have a feeling that I'm going to love it to pieces (or be horrificly dissapointed)
The concept of Earth being quarantined after everything evolves against humanity is pretty freaking original, this will be really goddamn cool
Wait a minute...Maybe it's so far in the future that humans evolved as well, becoming strong enough to literally fall from space onto the planet's surface and survive?
That would be an interesting explanation.
So he ripped off LOST?
I can never tell if people are being sarcastic when they say this.
Trailer pops up, get's a bunch of winners. Someone reveals M. Night is directing, it suddenly becomes crap.
It's kind of interesting how over time he's advertised his name less and less. His earlier movies had his name in the opening of the commercial. Then when Devil came out he put his name in the trailer at the very end. In this he didn't even put his name in it.
I'm don't write people off just because of their past, so I'm willing to give it a shot, but I'm a bit cautious about how it'll turn out (considering his last films).
