No, Syrio Forel is definitely dead. There's no way he could overpower one of the Kingsguard with a wooden sword. [sp] unless he's actually Jaqen but that's really fucking far fetched, just because he was Braavosi doesn't make him a Faceless Man [/sp]
[sp]A broken sword at that, Arya was around just in time to see it split down to the lead core. Also Syrio was supposedly THE best swordsman in Braavos.[/sp]

he could if he tried really hard :( [editline]11th August 2012[/editline] fuck you :(

Question about above spoilers [sp]Can you explain why there would be any reason at all for Arya to want to kill Syrio?[/sp]
[sp]because george rr martin wills it, and what he wills shall be done.[/sp] [sp]"your favorite character is now dead, enjoy the books" - GRRM 1996-2013[/sp]
Slight issue with that being that [sp]Jaquen is Lorathi (from Lorath) and not Braavosi.[/sp]
Jaqen is [sp] a faceless man so his original face was probably Braavosi. A faceless man can change into any nationality at will, just because Jaqen was Lorathi doesn't mean that every form he takes is Lorathi. He could have been Syrio before Jaqen. [/sp]
First sword of Braavos, yeah, but that doesn't really mean shit when you've got a broken wooden sword and your opponent is a member of the Kingsguard with castle forged steel.
He could have like, walked backwards and picked up a sword while somersaulting or something. It honestly wouldn't be hard at all considering how agile he is.
He could have like, walked backwards and picked up a sword while somersaulting or something.
Explain how Trant is seen alive and well after going to kill Syrio There's seriously no way he could have survived.
By not killing Trant, probably. GRRM graphically kills off characters all the time, many way more important than Syrio. I just don't see why he'd be so subtle about it if he didn't want to keep the character for a possible appearance in the future books.

The only way we would have seen Syrio being killed was if Arya stuck around to see it, which she didn't, so he just dies without a description.
syrio is fucking dead. only idiot spergs think he's alive end of story
GRRM has said he hasn't decided if Syrio is done, and that he might bring him back if it suits the story.
syrio is fucking dead. only idiot spergs think he's alive end of story
Calm down.
GRRM has said he hasn't decided if Syrio is done, and that he might bring him back if it suits the story.
The only way he's coming back is if AFFC/ADWD spoilers [sp] The Kindly Man manipulates Arya using Syrio's face somehow. He died in Kings Landing. [/sp]
syrio is fucking dead. only idiot spergs think he's alive end of story
You should put some ointment on that butt, it'll ease the pain.

[/sp]
If he was dead (and it was obvious) wouldn't GRRM just have said so in the interview? not that big of a stretch to think that he just hasn't decided with him, as with many other characters.

However, considering his fanbase are the kind of nerds which demand George Lucas says who shot first I wont be surprised if he has to spill the beans sometime in a interview next year or so.

Getting close to finishing the first book, and I'm going to be honest, my favorite character so far after Arya is Littlefinger. He just has that sort of slimy puppet master feel that makes him both an interesting character to see interact with others, and a firm position amongst the politics that makes me have a feeling he won't die any time soon. Unless something happens to him later on, which wouldn't be surprising given him and Varys has this little competition to one up each other in plots.
Explain how Trant is seen alive and well after going to kill Syrio There's seriously no way he could have survived.
He could [sp]have changed his face to Trant[/sp]
He could [sp]have changed his face to Trant[/sp]
wishful thinking [editline]13th August 2012[/editline]
Getting close to finishing the first book, and I'm going to be honest, my favorite character so far after Arya is Littlefinger. AFFC is pretty boring so far. So much stuff happened in the book before it and now it's back to useless talk and thousands of unimportant new characters that die off as quickly as they appear, meh.
AFFC is pretty boring so far. So much stuff happened in the book before it and now it's back to useless talk and thousands of unimportant new characters that die off as quickly as they appear, meh.
definitely the most boring one, ADWD remedies that though
In which case [SP] he kept it up until Podrick drowned him in the Blackwater[/SP]
[sp]It wasn't Trant who was killed at Blackwater, it was Mandon Moore. Trant is still alive as of the end of ADWD[/sp]
They're all so samey, the fucking kingsguard :v:
