it's just awkward to watch those scenes with anyone imo. watched rome and deadwood with my parents and it was really really awkward anyways finished season 1, don't really know who to root for now that [sp]Ned is dead.[/sp] I do like the [sp]northerners[/sp] but I feel they can't win, so I'll root for the dwarf because he seems to have the most honor (even if he does like his whores)

He's a badass.
Just started watching the show. It's great, but I kind of wish there was less nudity. I want my family to watch it but there's no way I'll suggest it with all the boobies in it.
Yeah, it is definitely not a family friendly show
Root for Tyrion, indeed. He's a badass.
I also find "Peter Dinklage" to be a very fitting name for a dwarf
root for stannis even if you haven't seen him yet
Yeah, it is definitely not a family friendly show
But that was made clear quite soon. Decapitations and all that jazz.
I also find "Peter Dinklage" to be a very fitting name for a dwarf
It's the only fitting name as far as I'd know.

I'm really looking forward to her. I watch the show with my girlfriend and she always tells me how much Jon makes her think of me. When I was reading A Clash of Kings, I found myself picturing her when I read Ygritte's parts, even before (minor Storm of Swords spoiler) [sp]Jon and Ygritte's romance.[/sp] Basically I feel like it just kinda works out. Also this: [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dku_Uya8Ygc&feature=g-u-u&context=G22cdfb9FUAAAAAAATAA[/hd] Not much new stuff, but there are a few more glimpses of season two and it's always nice to hear what the actors and producers think of the show.
root for stannis even if you haven't seen him yet
Stannis and Victarion are easily some of my favourite characters. Tyrion's a given.

I watched the first few episodes with my dad, but we pretty much ended up just telling each other when there's a new epsiode and the like. Wouldn't dream about watching it with my mum, though, she'd just crack jokes through the entire thing. :v: I find it very awkward, but they don't.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Roose Bolton, you see him very briefly in the character feature for Robb Stark. Major book 2 spoilers ahead: [sp]I'm wondering what they're gonna do about Ramsay Bolton and the sacking of Winterfell, seeing as he hasn't been cast.[/sp]

Because that's where it's going to happen.
I'm pretty sure they've announced the entire cast. My guess is [sp]The season ends with Theon taking Winterfell, the Stark children escaping and Theon preparing making a final stand against the Northerners. Then Ramsay is introduced at the start of Season 3[/sp]
It's quite a "holy shit!" to learn that Theon is Lily Allen's Brother.
Wow really? He lives right near me in London apparently.

I think we'll see all of that stuff this season.[/sp]

Nancy dewolf of wall street journal shares her thoughts:
For those among us who instinctively recoil at the sight of leather jerkins, cut throats and castle keeps, "Games" may take some getting used to. But the cinematography, like the cast of largely British and Irish actors, is magnificent. Each week the story unfolds like a tapestry, its intricate stitches slowly creating not just a scene but a whole world. It's a world to get lost in, but not always easy to endure. Because the good die as often as the bad, and happy endings are only for fairy tales.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304724404577297420237664392.html
I'm told that the series gets significantly worse about halfway through the third book? Is this true?
That's bullshit. I've enjoy every single book so far.
I'm told that the series gets significantly worse about halfway through the third book? Is this true?
I think that it's probably (major fucking spoiler)[sp]The Red Wedding[/sp] that makes them say it got worse, though I'd argue that it got very interesting past that point. It could also be on how he manages to get so many characters in that he can't go too much into depth for each one and had to split up a few characters sections between a few books, and has a few withheld bits as he honestly can't get it all in at once. You've got people in the Eyrie, King's Landing, Winterfell, Dreadfort, the Wall, Pentos, Mereen, Dorne, Highgarden, Braavos, Old Town and there are people out on the field in between places, which is why the books slow down a bit as you go along, due to the characters.
I'm told that the series gets significantly worse about halfway through the third book? Is this true?
In my experience it's been the exact opposite. It just keeps getting better and better.
I'm told that the series gets significantly worse about halfway through the third book? Is this true?
no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no that's just people getting REALLY mad at a certain event that happens, the last half of A Storm of Swords is the high point of the series, the exec producers/writers of the TV show said if they get up to that certain event then they'll be proud of what they've done
From what I've heard the latest book is really uneventful. Like it's more of a filler compared to the others.
From what I've heard the latest book is really uneventful. Like it's more of a filler compared to the others.
No dude, PLENTY of shit happens in aDwD. Anyone who says otherwise is insane. I think you mean aFfC. It's mostly character development.
Oh, I might mean that one then.
