actually he didn't bail; despite getting a role in the hobbit he was able to work around the film schedule in order to still play his part in game of thrones, but hbo told him that they "wanted to go in a different direction with gregor clegane." and conan stephens was disappointed that he wouldn't be coming back
What "other direction" than brick shithouse would be appropriate
Never really pictured Daario or Grey Worm like those two actors.
Thought Daario would be you know, more like Drogo with a purple beard and hair, and that grey worm had a much thicker, meaner face.
Just got a bit more into Clash of Kings today, and all I gotta say is: Jorah Mormont is King of the Friendzone.
[sp]House Motto: Please Respond[/sp]
Playing the Game of Thrones mod as Stannis and before he died and his heir took over, I had her married to house Tyrell to form an alliance and yeah, this happened.

I am the hand of the king, and the king at the same time!
I was reading up on the mod, apparently they made Cersei an enormous whore.
I was reading up on the mod, apparently they made Cersei an enormous whore.
So it's accurate then.
So I'm only playing as House Tyrell right now because the way the game has it if you're playing as Stannis, is that unless you marry a lower noble class (Which I might add is stupid considering how you can marry the first in line of succession in house tyrell), House Baratheon dies out because of lack of legitimate male heirs. Since you know, I killed my brother. Funny thing, it was found out and I was branded a kinslayer, but the prince of flowers was still my main officer due to me just receiving Renly's armies.
[editline]26th August 2012[/editline]
Well, if you want to play as Stannis and join Renly on the sidelines. That's kinda boring since you still only have a fucking island.
[editline]26th August 2012[/editline]
Like, I literally only won a war because the head of house Tyrell died and my characters Husband joined the war on my side.
[editline]26th August 2012[/editline]
They have Fourty fucking thousand men.
-snip, a simple google search took care of it-
I'm just trying to figure out the game in general.
I recommend just playing the base game as Dublin and once you're through with that, experiment a little. The key to understanding all Paradox games is that you can't learn how to play it through reading or watching something. You have to actually play the game and learn things one at a time.
Like, I had no idea you could set generals for an armies flank till about five minutes ago and I have over 60 hours on the game.

You either win or you die, there is no middle ground.
In all seriousness, I seem to be the worst player ever. The second I unpause time, the war ends and I get knighted under the Mad King. I've only had the kidnapping thing happen once.

This makes me wonder. Am I gonna have to worry about spoilers if I play the mod?
Probably only to the second book, though I'm not sure how far the dates go exactly.
No, there's zero spoilers. You only need to read the books to realize who the fuck is who.
The latest scenario in the game is "The Crowned Stag", which is when Robert takes power ~15 years before the first book.

That's great. This mod really looks like exactly what I'd want in a Game of Thrones game.
While we're talking about Game of Thrones games, has anyone here played the RPG or Boardgame? I saw them at my local Forbidden Planet and was wondering if they're any good.

No it isn't. The most recent update, 0.3, added in the Greyjoy rebellion and the war of the five kings.

One of the things I don't understand about the mod, is how they don't just update the same thread and edit the title to reflect the new version. Since if you google it, you're linked to the first release and I know that many people are too lazy or uninformed to just check the forum for the latest one.

Ah, I played a couple weeks ago.
I've played the war of the five kings scenario like six times and have played it for like 15 hours in the past two days.
GRRM sure does love to describe his food.
Renly managed to apparently gather a fuckhuge (woah, how is that labeled as gramatically correct?) army because he's simply fabulous. Although he seems to mean well, I'm sure he's going to find a way to fuck up the alliance Catelyn's trying to work out.
There are entire pages dedicated to food god damn. I always skim them because I get stupidly hungry.
George RR Martin is to food as Robert Jordan was to dresses, though I can't decide who was worse with the description porn :v:
There are pages and pages in the Wheel of Time related to dresses, and he went to great measures to shove in a bit of blacksmithing, military tactics and how to clean silk clothes (book 10)
Meanwhile, Martin was busy with pages on differently prepared meals, military tactics and how exactly Tywin Lannister's armour looks like. (lionesses on each shoulder, sunburst rondels, lion with one paw forward on helm without checking books due to how often he stated it)
