GRRM confirmed that the next book will be out within 19 years at Worldcon.
I can kind of understand him marrying Jeyne, I mean, he was obviously stricken with grief over the news from Winterfell, and injured as well, and he did take Jeyne's virginity. As a Stark, he was honor bound to marry her. Honor is a bitch.
It's his dad's fault. Ned was so far up his own ass, and trained his kids to be honourable over practical. I'd also argue that there's significantly less honour lost in having sex out of wedlock when compared to oathbreaking, even in the timeframe.

With any luck, we'll have A Dream of Summer in our hands by 2030.
Isn't it A Dream of Spring?
Guy playing Greatjon Umber had to leave the show and he isn't being recast.
The show is over, it sucks now, pack your bags, lets all go home. ITS NOT THE FUCKING SAME.
Also, apparently in the show, some people switch deaths at that one wedding that rhymes with blue.

Any idea who? Some really important people die there. Maybe they aren't important on their own, but their impact sure is.
[sp]If they come up with some bullshit reason to keep Catelyn or King Robb alive I'm done with the show, though[/sp]
Man, the hounds a pussy.

19 years? And that will be the second to last book, right? I'm starting to get worried about him being able to finish the last book.

He's waiting for winter to come, but he's not using our calendar.

He was joking.

They got Sandor wrong by claiming he worships the faith of the seven. He hates the gods and priests, pretty much says as much. Same could go for a lot of people in the series, though; I doubt Baelish or Varys believe in the seven or any of that such. (though Varys does to believe in magic, and hates it)
She looked better after spending a night in a funeral pyre.
Finished A dance with dragons. Very good book so many interesting things happening.
ADWD
[sp]So sad about John, he was my favorite character, would be nice if he somehow survived.
Also, who do you guys think Ser Robert Strong is? I think its Gregor Clegane.[/sp]

[sp] Glad someone shares my hopes. Also I loved Aegon's appearance, one of the best parts of the books I think, mainly because it changes everything. Sadly chances are George will kill him off. Also I can't wait to see how the Vale will play into fight for winterfell, don't know how high the chances are that Petyr will throw in with Stannis though. [/sp]

Your hopes are the general consensus of this thread.
Has anyone read the mini serious about Duncan the Tall? First book was called the hedge knight.
Yeah those books were sweet. Difficult to get ahold of though, had to purchase three books of short stories to get them all :/ I heard G.R.R.M is working on a new one, hope not, he needs to finsish TWOW!!

Nah, Dunk & Egg is just as good as ASOIAF. The next one is mostly written, it'll definitely be out before TWOW.
Is the Dunk and Egg books worth buying?
And I am now on ADWD finally. I read books 2,3 and 4 over the summer.
We can be book buddies :D

Also, Osha was actually just going for a record deal in Kings Landing when Robb captured her.

Yes, they are. Lots of backstory on the Targaryen reign etc.
Wow, this isn't the Jaime I remember, [sp]especially after Daffy Duck cut off his hand... He's a lot more cynical, but definitely not as much of a smug dick as he used to be.[/sp]
Also gotta hand it to GRRM. I'm halfway through A Storm of Swords and the entire series feels like one long narrative. It's like, I know Daenerys visiting Qarth was only in Clash of Kings, for example, or the Night's Watch visiting Craster's Keep, but it just feels like they all meld together until it feels silly to think of them as being from separate books.
Also the Night's Watch has crossed the moral event horizon for me after [sp]they killed Mormont.[/sp]
And let's not forget the infamous cave scene, found that part hilarious, [sp]"You know nothing Jon Sn-oh. Oh. OH!"[/sp]

[sp]How is that the moral event horizon? It was established a lot of the members are shit stains since the start, and only a few members mutinied.[/sp]
He managed to write the narrative well enough that I have to check what book things happen in, just because I am so unsure which one they are in.

How would one go about getting them on a Kindle? I'd like to avoid purchasing the compendiums they're in, if at all possible. By which, I mean, purchasing the stories individually.
i need season 3 previews or twow news...

Leaked info suggest season 3 has some swords in it.
Unconfirmed but looking at the first 2 seasons it could happen. George R R Martin has not ruled out the possibility that some characters may have beards.

Book 1 spoilers I guess

There will probably be a teaser shown in front of Boardwalk Empire season 3 on September 16h.
Reading the second part of "a dance with dragons" and I dislike it more and more.
I can pretty much skip each chapter to the last 2 pages because in the other parts nothing happens. At all.
The writing gets more and more lazy, I caught him using the phrase" more and even more" 3 times on 2 pages and mind the German version is in very big print, same with "useful as a xxx with nipples"
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
The only storyline that kept me really interested is the one of Arya since she learns new skills and I am eager to see what she will use them for.
Oh and Bran.
