Most of Danaerys' chapters in Dance With Dragons can basically be summed up by "I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing"
Her storyline was so boring.
[sp]Just endless politics and her dishing out bad judgement until occasionally something exciting popped up, I.E. the father bringing his child's charred bones to the court/Daenerys flying on Drogon.[/sp]
So many Mo Nkzhaz Kraznyknzas people in Dany's chapters. Every time I read one of the names I wonder if it's a new character or someone I forgot about :v:

One of the characters lampshades it at one point. I think it's when (ADWD)[sp]Frog is in with the company owned by the Tattered Prince[/sp]

It got a bit over the top with the Dany parts during the last book. Shit finally started happening towards the end, though.
I just watched all of seasons 1 and 2
...and I very nearly shat myself at the season 2 finale when [sp]the third horn sounded[/sp]
So Ive read the first book, and about a third of the second
God
Those people (months ago, possibly still but I doubt it) who wanted to skip the books because they'd seen the corresponding tv season, you would have missed so much.
Books are like 500x better lol
There is so much cut out of the second book it isn't even funny.
I'm worried about the series.
Its almost like GRRM completely forgot about the White Walkers.
They are supposed to be 50% of the importance of the series, with dragons being the other 50% yet its like he forgot about them entirely and will have to shoehorn an entire series worth of action and lore about them into 2 novels.
And then the dragons are barely developed. [sp]Dany loses them again and flies off on one[/sp]. they are nowhere near mature enough and the series is almost over!

Actually it's only planned to be seven book, but Martin has said that he might do more books of the story requires it.
There are 2 more books planned, making it 7.
Still shoehorning a shitload of information into 2 books. AKA we lose quality because GRRM went off on too many tangents.
No way he writes more than 2. Its prolly gonna be 6 years until Winds of Winter and 12 total till A Dream of Spring.
Or you could listen to the man, who said himself that he would write more books if the story demanded it. He's not an idiot.
And I'd say that he's more qualified to make a realistic estimate on the amount of books he can write, than you or I.
He'd probably die before the story was finished, if he planned more than 2 books.
I feel like a pessimist but I'd consider us fortunate if we got A Dream of Spring by 2020
I'll bet anyone willing a roll of biscuits that G.R.R.M will die right before he writes the last book.
Thankfully he's told the writers of the show what's going to happen at the end in the event that he does die before he finishes writing.

Oh wow so if he dies book seven is going to be entirely about Rose, awesome.
Rose?
[editline]27th November 2012[/editline]
Oh, you mean the whore, Ros?
Ros is the hottest chick in the show anyways.
But yeah the show changed too much besides that. LIVE GEORGE, LIIIIIIIIIVE

Yeah that's about how much I care about that character.

Ros? Hottest chick?
Pffffft Ygritte all the freaking way.
I don't think even a Ygritte sex scene could change my mind.
In all seriousness clearly old nan is the hottest hoe

Besides...why would you want to do Ros. You'd probably get several different types of STDs. And honestly its not just Ygritte's beauty that I like, it's also her attitude and her personality. Ros just wants to get into your pants so you'll pay her.

that's not exactly encouraging
Reading good 'ol Dance again,[sp]I can't wait to see what happens with the story on the Wall. Will Tormund raise the Wildings and loyal Black Brothers to avenge Jon? Will Melisandre give Jon a cheeky fire kiss and bring him back? And what about Stannis, what will he do when he hears of Jon's murder? Or is he busy freezing to death? Of all the stories left open at the end of Dance with Dragons, Jon's is likely the one that interests me most. Though there was some foreshadowing about Melisandre and Bran having some sort of faceoff, and that would be great.[/sp]
Apparently the Northern Irish extras are so into their job they've grown out beards and their hair.
From an interview about Blackwater:
Benioff: The extras in Northern Ireland are tough fuckin' dudes, and they're into it. These guys grow out their beard and their hair to be extras.
Weiss: [They're] getting better at sword-fighting. They're going to be a full-fledged medieval army by the time this show's finished

What's the bigger battle they're talking about? The Blackwater was the largest of the war, so far.

[sp]The whole Wilding arc of Storm of Swords, probably, probably either the Watch/Wilding siege, or the bit where Stannis lands.[/sp]

[sp]Huh. I wouldn't call Stannis and his thousand men-at-arms breaking the Wildlings (~40,000 all told I think, including women, children, and the dying) a larger battle then the Blackwater. Maybe they just have more extras. Or, since it's HBO, for some reason Mace Tyrell lands with the full power of the Reach and crowns himself King-Beyond-the-Wall.[/sp]
