Wilko Johnson (Ilyn Payne) diagnosed with terminal cancer: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/jan/09/wilko-johnson-terminal-cancer
Absolutely bonkers how he can be diagnosed with a terminal disease and then go on living healthily for months. Weird thing, cancer.
Man, I feel bad for saying "Looks like he has cancer or something" First time I watched game of thrones.
I'm reading AFFC (actually I started it in the summer and lost interest for a while, and just picked it back up) and I can't figure something out. Why does [sp]Euron attack the shield islands, and by extension Highgarden? From what I remember, he wants to get control of the dragons (and marry Dany) to take the Iron Throne, but it seems like his attack will give the kingdoms a common enemy to unite against instead of beating up on one another. Since I have a huge gap in when I started reading the book, I can't remember if his plan was explained at any point before Victarion's chapter titled "The Reaver."[/sp]

Puts down feelings of rebellion 3) With his new lands (the shields) he is able to give new titles to some iron born rivals. IE he gives all of Victarion's friends land and so they decide to take the land and not go with Victarion. This weakens Victarion and any other rivals he did this to. 4) The raids are successful so he ends up weakening Westerosian rivals (basically just Highgarden) [/sp]

Yeah I'll be honest that was a p crap teaser
Does HBO make their teasers? I've never really liked a single one.
Would've been nice to see some of their world and not ours
The song in the trailer is Rains of Castamere, does that mean Season 3 will show [sp] Red Wedding?[/sp] Oh dear.
The song in the trailer is Rains of Castamere, does that mean Season 3 will show [sp] Red Wedding?[/sp] Oh dear.
It's also got [sp]drums, which were a big thing during the Red Wedding.[/sp] Also they broke Storm of Swords into two seasons, so the first season finale will probably be [sp]The Red Wedding.[/sp]
I don't think the song means anything. It played at the end of Blackwater and a lot of people liked it so they probably just through it in.
It's a really good song too, they pulled it off great. I hope they do a more bard-y version in-show though.

This is far from proof but there is enough evidence from interviews that that is where they will end. Plus it IMO is the best place to stop to give such a great cliffhanger[/sp]
Biggest proof was that they hired [sp]cellists as actors / extras[/sp]

In seasons 1 and 2, the big event has been in episode 9 (Ned's death, Blackwater). Episode 10 has more been the big finale that sets up one of the major themes of the following season (birth of the Dragons, appearance of the Others).[/sp]
GRRM isn't writing episode 9 this season though and I would think he would write that particular episode
Nah, I don't think he would write that episode. He's stated before that he had a very hard time writing the chapter in the book, saying he left it pretty much right until the end before writing it.

GRRMs episode is called chains and the title is apparently literal and metaphorical. [sp]Maybe Dracarys? [/sp]

ASoS spoilers ahead: If [sp]Joff's wedding[/sp] isn't episode 10 then they're going to lose quite a bit of their viewers imo. Was Oberyn there though? They better not cut out Oberyn. Plus that would leave the entirety of [sp]Tyrion's trial[/sp] to the next season.

If they try to cram too much into season 3 they'll fuck up the timeline.
Might wanna spoiler tag that for non readers

Also seeing as everything points towards that [sp]the red wedding[/sp] will happen in episode 9 there's not time enough for [sp]Joff's wedding[/sp].

I haven't read the books in a while so I don't know if there would be events at either wedding that would mean they couldn't happen at the same time, but seeing Robb dying at the same time as Joffrey would certainly make for some great TV.[/sp]
Holy shit! I never thought about that, that would be great in a TV series way.

I guess they could change it.
