Wait is Brienne the second picture? Damn I thought that she was a man. Well done.
Well it happens quite a lot in the books, so they've done a good job.
Found this a couple of months ago. Pretty interesting so I thought I'd might post it. It's a long interview with George R. R. Martin where he, among other things, elaborates how he writes the books.
It does not directly touch on matters beyond A Game of Thrones, however, while not discussed in detail, there are a few references to scenes in the other books.

Can I assume it does not contain spoilers?

He is very careful not to spoil any events or story elements beyond A Game of Thrones, but he does vaguely refer to scenes in the other books. I wouldn't worry, as unless you've read the books you wouldn't know what he's on about.
However, if you don't want to know if major characters make it to a certain book, don't watch it. For instance, he mentions how he had problems cutting down the content of a known character in book five, which implies that said character is still alive and so on.

Alright, cheers. Seeing as I'm halfway through book three I'll hold off with the video.

Thanks, this is interesting.
Davos looks nothing like I imagined
He looks closer to what I imagined Stannis to look like.
I'll reserve my judgement on Stannis's actor until I see the second season, but Liam Cunningham is brilliant.
The old guy in the grey robes, [sp]Lord Balon[/sp]?
Personally I think they picked a great actor for Stannis in terms of his build and face, it's the lack of the short beard he had in the books that is making him stand out as different and making Davos seem more like him.

The hair also. Like this:

Except not terribly rendered.
can someone who has read the books tell me if joffrey dies anytime soon?
can someone who has read the books tell me if joffrey dies anytime soon?
[sp]Mid-Late Book 3, so not really soon.[/sp]
Doesn't each book cover almost a year? So if they film one season per year there shouldn't be any problem.
Minor A Feast For Crows spoiler: [sp]Arya was 9 years old in the first book, in this book it was mentioned she is 12. So that is 3 years /4 books.[/sp]
Arya consistently lies that she is 12 throughout the books, especially I seem to recall when hanging out with (ASOS) [sp]Lord Beric[/sp]
There is still a lot of time passing through the books, with 1 year / book being the average or so.
George RR Martin originally planned for 5 years to elapse between AFFC and ADWD, but that wasn't possible due to a few constraints. (probably the Jon Snow, Cersei, and Bran parts) He was doing that to let Dany's dragons grow a bit, and to age Arya and Sansa a bit.

CoK: [sp]If I remember correctly he got to see the king after a while, but then the hand he had brought had rotted away, so the court just laughed at him.[/sp]

Such useful tags, gone forever. Let us hold a quiet moment in memory.
New production video

Dat wildfire, Craster's Keep, Fist of the First Men.
I got the impression from the books that glass hasn't been invented :P
The glass panels at the Winterfell gardens are mentioned pretty early in the first book. Glass is only used by lords in Westeros, in the east it's more common. Still extremely expensive, especially clear glass.
Glass is as it was in medieval times, which is to say so cripplingly expensive for even poor quality glass that most lords made do without, though Winterfell does have glass gardens, and I think the Eyrie is mentioned to have some at some point.
That production video was awesome, but the Unsullied in it were missing their short swords that the book states that they have in addition to the spear and shield. Also, I kind of expected the shields to be a fair bit larger, as they are basically ancient Greek hoplites with their phalanx formations.
