The point is that Joffrey only has a claim under the Baratheon name. However, his children will officially have a Tyrell lineage, through their mother. Officially Joffrey can only give his children the Baratheon lineage. This is what gives the Tyrells an advantage, in the future though, not now. If there was a fight in the future over the kingdom and who has the right to the throne, at that point House Tyrell would have the inside track over the Lannisters. They would control Joffrey's kids the same way Cersei, ie the Lannisters, is controlling what everyone thinks are Robert's kids.
Eh, there's no way Tyrell could become the name of the king. Joffrey's sons will be Baratheon and if he doesn't have sons his brother will get the throne, another Baratheon. Not sure how having only daughters work in this universe but usually the husband also gets the "stronger" name. But yes, if we are talking about the power behind the king, once there are no Lannisters, Tyrells could pull the strings.

Officially [sp]Stannis is the next in line for the throne[/sp]. There's no point considering Joffrey because [sp]he was born out of incest and half of Westeros seems to know that[/sp] (more on that comes later though).

Started watching this show, it's quite interesting, I only hope it won't get boring later on...
Speaking theoretically I mean, so this includes Willas and Garlan too
No, the claim would go to the eldest uncle.
Started watching this show, it's quite interesting, I only hope it won't get boring later on...
It won't.
Started watching this show, it's quite interesting, I only hope it won't get boring later on...
How exactly does one get bored of boobs and fucking all the time? On a more serious note, you probably won't. They do a great job of getting you attached to certain characters and really hating the living balls off of others.
Was it just me or was there a whole lot less fucking in S2?
Was it just me or was there a whole lot less fucking in S2?
They even had an episode WITHOUT TITS.

Right now the real power is Lannister. Even though Joffrey rules in the Baratheon name, he is controlled by Lannisters(his mom and grandfather mainly). This is because he's young enough to need his mom, or Hand, to be his counsel. Now let's say Joffrey later has a son with the Tyrell girl. At that point Joffrey will be old enough to rule on his own(mom and granddad are kicked to the curb). So when/if the throne passes to his son(maybe after Joffrey's wife pulls a Cersei and has him killed like Robert), who will his son depend on? Not a Lannister. It's going to be his mom or another Tyrell close to him.

He'd probably get a better chance being Hand of the King after most of the Lannisters have moved on. There is a chance that Loras could get King if he married Myrcella and was given the Crown Matrimonial or whatever equivalent, to make him a King Regent in his own right, rather than a King Consort. Then he could happily kill Mycella, marry someone else and have kids (lol) with them changing the ruling dynasty to the Tyrells. I don't think the Lannisters would be too happy though.

Unless your talking about fantasy tv shows. In which case I have nothing.

Amazing show.

Loras can't inherit the throne because he joined the Kingsguard, which is essentially the Night's Watch with white cloaks.
watching season 1 the lannisters are dicks, except for tyrion though
My exact thoughts after finishing season 1. "Christ on a sandwich, how long is it gonna take for all these Lannisters to die a horrible death? Except Tyrion, he's boss".
They even had an episode WITHOUT TITS.
I know the actress who plays Dany got a contract change between series 1 and 2 saying she could no longer get naked. So no more nude Dany. [editline]20th June 2012[/editline]
My exact thoughts after finishing season 1.
I know the actress who plays Dany got a contract change between series 1 and 2 saying she could no longer get naked.
But then again Daenerys doesn't really do much sexual until (Books 3 & 5) [sp]that thing with one of the handmaids in ASoS and of course Daario[/sp]
I have a question about the Blackwater episode (haven't read the books, maybe it's better explained in them): why did Stannis attack from just the sea? He could have landed his entire force nearby, constructed siege engines, and carried out a full scale assault of the walls. Instead he lands on a small strip of beach and his advantage in numbers is thrown away. I know they weren't ready for the wildfire, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a bad idea to attack in full force from the water.
In the book the way it goes down is Stannis is on the other side of the river with his main forces. His ships are to come up, clear out the Lannister ships, then his men can safely cross the water and attack the city walls. In the tv show they changed it so all his forces were on the water. I chalk it up to one of those things, schedule and budget probably weren't there.
also it wouldn't have looked as impressive if tyrion wildfired half the fleet rather than all of it
