I love Rolfe. His voice is pleasant to listen to, he can be funny at times, and he makes the best IRL sadface. If I were gay, I'd totally do him. (So I could play his SNES/NES collection :smug:
holy carp laser disk
His videos are always fun and informative to watch.
I wonder if laser disks would shatter if you dropped them. They look weaker than CDs.
That is fuckin' laserdisc.
I dug out a beta recorder from the basement a few years ago. It worked fine, but the movies were shit. Since buying new beta tapes wouldn't make much sense when you own a dvd player, I threw it on the trash. you cant even sell them for any proper sum of money, so whatever
I have a laser disc! It's like a Frisbee.
the CED was really strange. I hope he has more weird stuff to show. Seems like something that would cost a ton at the time, perhaps why it never took off.
Laser discs look pretty cool, with their nice cover design and how easy they are to operate compared to dvds, but they use up a hell lot of space
A local bar here uses laser discs when it has karaoke-nights. :v: At first I thought they were some kind of weird LP's, but then I realised that it's not possible and asked what it is, and found out about laser discs for the first time.
Inside of a CED, they are high density, high rpm vinyl records.
I knew laser disk was huge, but fuck me that was gigantic. Some of the older formats are pretty awesome compared to DVD/Blu-ray.
Holy laserdisk, Batman! Throw that at somebody and watch them crap their pants, wow.
