My god, gollum looks so real, its really unsettling.
Just wait for games to start doing that in realtime.

The moment Gollum faded out and a creepy man appeared in the same odd position was hilarious.

To be honest, I'm not really too fond of CGI everywhere. We are not (and won't be for a while) close to the point of replacing the real deal. Other than the lack of detail often being easily visible, there is a whole lot of subconscious things that it just doesn't give off yet (you don't really see it, but without those tiny tiny details you don't think you notice, it feels off and unnatural). I know some things would be incredibly expensive to do without CGI, but we're at the point where it's 90% CGI and 10% real.
The creepiest thing for me about Golem is how human and endearing his movements are in comparison to his disgusting body, it makes sense though [sp]with him being an ex-hobbit and all.[/sp] Peter Jackson clearly has a very, very precise plan for this, identifying why Golem had the impact he did and putting in as much effort as possible to play to that by recording the movements of an actor.

Man, golem is a really, really ugly fucking word.
