A sci-fi story about a giant spaceship with thousands of people on it, designed to reach far galaxies by traveling hundreds of years, only that through the generations of people living on it noone remembers what they are there for anymore and the story would start shortly before they reach their destination when "sideways" gravity kicks in due to the ship slowing down.

Honestly a movie similar to Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon would be kinda cool. Sci-fi parody with a killer soundtrack.

The book is based on a true story but ... lets just say it's filled with 'facts' that don't add up, taken as fiction though it's not half bad and it could be a rather entertaining film.

[B]the obsidian trilogy[/B] by Mercedes Lackey, it essentially starts out with dumbledoor's son flunking hogwarts, so he goes and buys some used spellbooks in hopes that they'll have nice notes, and instead he finds a whole new type of magic that has been banned from the city of 1000 bells, after some experimentation his father finds it and he's kicked out of the city and has thousands of stone dogs sent after him, fortunatly a unicorn goes and rescues him and drags him almost outside the boarded... a desperate battle ensues with many clubbings, and this is only in the first 4-5 chapters, the first book goes so freeking far, and the next 2 are very very good chronicaling his rise from a flunking mage to the greatest general of his generation

hunger games, what a piece of crap, espeacially since they sanatised it, ender's game, even worse of a sci-fi book, its barely scifi and basically wraps up the book's plot in the span of 3 paragraphs

if they ever get a script to work, it will instantly get greenlighted, morgan freeman owns the rights to the movie so basically its going to get made if they ever get it to the point where its good
Everyone seems to be posting sci-fi, so: I'm surprised that there's never been an adaptation of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
Also the more adaptations there are of PKD books the better. Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall, and several others are based on his work. Apparently Man in the High Castle is currently being made into a miniseries.
An unfucked version of Starship Troopers would be awesome.
