I never really got the point of atheism because whats the point in just not believing in anything at all.
At least if you say your agnostic you can just say you want to believe, just in case there is the slightest chance there is a god and all that crack you might not end up being fucked in the ass.
So you're saying that you're afraid to be wrong so you'll just say that you're not sure and have a chance of getting into heaven if you're wrong? I'm pretty sure if you died and it turned out God was real, he'd see right through something like that and send you to Hell instead.
Well biologically I'm here to have sex with as many women as I can before I die. But as one of my favorite quotes of all time puts it,
“What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”- Albert pike.

Another quote I base my life off of is something Abraham Lincoln said,
* * *“When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.”
bacon that is the meaning of life.
It's funny that everyone thinks that I'm a Christian
Why do they think that?
I agree with you. If my religion wasn't holding me back, I would probably just go on a massive raping spree followed by painless suicide as soon as things got bad. And I would fap as soon as my charge is up.
It's funny that everyone thinks that I'm a Christian
Not so. Only about half of the people (or less) thought you were Christian, the rest thought you were ahteist and just didn't think life was worth living.

What the fuck? Not having a religion means nothing other than a disbelief in a deity. Just because I'm atheist does not mean I'm going to rape/murder everyone around me...
its worth living due to the fact that I don't EVER have to conform to any beliefs on something that is and could be possibly bullshit
just life like as YOU want it pretty much...no guidelines to follow (i.e. The Bible)

...Religion isn't inherently theistic. You can be an atheist and still belong to a religion.
Family,friends... All that bullshit and more
See the present, live it to its fullest. Don't think about death. Seriously, I don't get why some likes to believe about a god or something after the death. But hey , everyone's free to have their beliefs.
I am atheist, and my life is worth living, because I can have fun, achieves goals I have set for my lifetime, well, live it as much as I can with what I have.
What's worthless is suicide, I have no respect for those who choose to pick the easiest way to get out of troubles.
...Religion isn't inherently theistic. You can be an atheist and still belong to a religion.
You have a point. The point I was trying to make though is a lack of religion in any form doesn't mean you have no morals.
I am not fifty at all, I am 16. Fine call me an "angsty" teenager.
But why should I be grateful when at any point in my life everything could simply end, gone forever without meaning.
I could one day crash on my motorbike and die, then that would be it, no reason for it. I would not be missed by a large amount of people, nor would my death have any repercussions on the world.
You would never think much of my death when it happens and you probably do not know what I have done in my life.
So what the hell is the point, I mean seriously now. Why? I am supposed to be doing my best to give the government money who hope I have children to give them more money and will spend it on a nice big house offshore. They also want me to die so they can get tax from my funeral service and coffin.
But for me, when I die that is it.
This subject annoys me and depresses me.
You should be grateful because there are some people out there who are blind or deaf or were born without an arm and they're enjoying their life more than you--someone who was born with everything they want.
...Religion isn't inherently theistic. You can be an atheist and still belong to a religion.
Thats what I am, I follow Humanistic Judaism its a secular form of Judaism that is about Jewish culture and tradition rather than a belief in a god or the supernatural. I am an atheist, and Jewish.

Well then why don't you also believe in Zeus? and Odin? what if they exist? Wouldn't believing in them stop you from going to Hell/Hel/Tartarus? All gods are made up, so it doesn't matter.
To make fun of ops dumb question
Why is life worth living for athiests?
I got a better question
Why is life worth living for the religious? Since the afterlife is so much better than regular life here on earth? How come none of them kill themselves, or have their religious friends kill each other
Ding.
Because in life we don't always think about existance you gotta think about the good things that happen to you and you gotta enjoy the things you do and have. It's one life live it to the full and make it good :).
knowledge, one day we might be able to live forever
Living forever is impossible, lasting longer however..

You sound like an extremely fucked up person with major psychological problems if a belief in God is the only thing holding you back.
You only got one life. Usually you need to forget about what is going to happen and just live it the best of your abilities and beyond.
I don't know what I am going to do after I am out of high school.
I do know that I will make sure I will do what will be the best for me.
It may not be related in anyway, but as an example, thinking of the future.
If we cease to exist, then you shouldn't be aware.
I don't know what's right or wrong. Nobody does.
It's just best to remain happy that you were able to live here with your friends, family, your experiances and memories.
Is the OP depressed??
So that they can be introduced to the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
what
That's the most emo thing I ever read.
You know what happens after you die? I do. Nothing happens, because you are dead. If something was happening, then you are still alive.
I view it this way:
In an objective sence, there is no point in anything. We are confined to a physical world where everything has a physical existance. When that ends, it ends, and that is all there is to it.
However, one can ask oneself, why does things have to matter? Do things really need to have a point? Well, as humans we feel the need to have things feel meaningfull, but we are also subjective creatures. There are no objective meanings, because that is the whole point of objectivism. However, subjectively, things can be meaningfull just through ones decision to let them be such.
As an example, why do i spend day after day lurking these forums, playing games and grinding through school? Because i have decided that i want to do that and that is all the meaning i recquire.
And i probably couldnt jump off a cliff even if i wanted to...
