Sometimes, I honestly don't know. I just know people are counting on me to keep living, and I don't want to disappoint them.

Religion =/= theism.
I've come to the conclusion that life is just as valuable as not living because you will eventually die and the impact you've left along with the world will die too, the universe will eventually die, and there's no chance of a legacy ultimately surviving, so why does anything matter? You are one miserable and poor fuck, if you think that.
Not having to live my life with impressing a supernatural being so I can be rewarded later on is a weight off my back.
I am my own master. I don't have a dated dogma to control me.
And it is worth living for a chance at changing the world. At helping someone. At making the world a better place.
I have an obligation tolose my virginity. When this probably hundreds of years away comes, my life will be fullfilled
one word...
...sex...
The possiiblities for life being worth meaning is endless.. I think you're thinking of:
"Why is life worth living for a NIHILIST"

youre posting in a religion thread. are you actually taking any of these posts seriously?
Excellent contributions my fellow Atheists. :smug:

No, just a realistic thinker.
i relish the mystery of life the universe and everything[inb4: 42]
i do not believe in any god as there is no proof,
stubborness and history is not enough.
science is superior because it changes, the whole scientific community would turn on a dime if confronted with enough evidence.
That is what keeps me alive, the thrill of discovery.
the ultimate question is 6x7, case closed.
Religion is very persuasive in its afterlife scenario. You are much better off having a faith in god that will bring you to heaven. If it is true then you get to go to heaven. If you don't believe and it is true then you go to hell.
Now if it is false, then you are worm dirt either way. So, which is the better option to go with?

That's like saying you should put unions around your neck in case of vampires. If your right you will not have your blood sucked
not to mention that there are 1000nds of religions and you can't believe in them all

Hello Pascal's Wager, how are you today?
I'd rather live my life honestly and godlessly than waste a ton of my life worshiping and praising. That's what is scary to me, the thought of wasting my life away for a false promise.

Its funny because pascals wager (if you see what it really is) is the main reason to not believe in god

Pascal's Wager, I see.
If you believe in a god only because you think it will grant you a happy afterlife, isn't it possible that God, being infallible, would see through your ruse and send you to hell?
The poeple that use pascals wager to prove a god should read what pascals wager really is first

Or it turns out that you picked the wrong religion and go to hell anyway.
Life was created to give you box ratings.
I love god with everything I have, and if I die I know he will promise me eternal life. Although many of you need to be saved, or you will be condemned to hell for speaking your blasphemy. I ask all of you to read a christian bible and just read through it at least once and try to understand it. Ignore the fact it's religious and it goes against physics, biology, and other sciences. Just read it as a book of values and story. Regardless if you don't believe just open it and try to learn something, this is all I ask of you facepunch. If you finish it and just toss it aside as nothing, look deeply into the stories. The scriptures have so much meaning than just words. A sentence in the bible means so many things that you would never realize without wondering about it.
Just try it FP, that's all I am asking of you.

As a former Southern Baptist, I've heard that tons of times. And its all bullshit.
Spoiler: The only part of the bible worth reading is where God orders a genocide. Shit got intense.

True. And then there was that one time he ordered a dude to kill his son, and then was all "Hey, shit, I didn't think you'd go through with it, cut that out." What an ass.

Your argument is like saying... why enjoy this piece of candy (or anything tasty for that matter) when you will have eventually eaten it and then its gone?
Why is it worth living for a theist? You have immortality after you die so just kill yourself
do it now
Because you have to do good deeds and learn from your life on Earth, until you can make it through to heaven. A lot of people believe you get sent back until you learn your mistakes. Like Groundhog Day.

Some of it has some value to it. But there is a lot that is like the writer was wasted as fuck and writing it as they go.
