Unimpressed. It included too many helper elements, and generally favors people who want it to succeed. It should just be delivering the inputs unfiltered to the game.
Well to be fair, they tried without the turn based system, and the results really speak for themselves. Such as..getting stuck by the first door in undead asylum for hours(days), or resetting the character multiple times, etc.. I'd be really impressed if they managed to beat the asylum demon with that amount of spam. Even when the hype started to die down, all it would have taken for them to die is 1-2 bad inputs in chat. ex; "pause" or "open menu" commands.
also, I'm pretty sure it's necessary for a 3d game with advanced combat systems.
It is, which is why most people thought it was a pretty dumb game to do this with. Because it is. The only way you can do it effectively is by cutting out what like 90% of the challenge in the game comes from. It's a fast paced, reactions based combat system. It's just not a good choice for twitch plays at all.
And that's how it should be! Sure, disable stuff that allows you to exit the game, but the level of handholding in these just make it all incredibly boring. I'm sorry for shitting on your boring parade, but if you picked a random number between 1 and 10, and managed to pick the one I'm thinking of, I'd literally be more impressed.
make your own then. this is people having fun not trying to cater to you
at first i thought they were using the old system i would have been REALLY impressed but now i am moderately impressed but slightly disappointed
how does anyone find enjoyment in watching this shit anymore
well these are the same people that spam the same thing in chat for a good 5 minutes, each person thinking they're hilarious for doing so
It's one thing making it easier and making it actually fucking playable, in the beginning they got stuck in the same corner of a room in the asylum for several days.
Then maybe they should stop with the whole "Twitch plays" thing then or play games that are actually possible without bullshit like this and the Halo one where the admin just disabled the chat and went trough it himself. The pokemon one was alright the rest of these are just trying to popularize this whole thing, something which was never entertaining or fun to watch in the first place.
Ladies and gents, the world's first Twitch Plays Purist. God help us all. Also, Solaire is a bruh.
Worlds first? You should've seen the "Twitch plays Pokemon" thread :v:
And this compromise makes it completely unimpressive,
Oh I'm sorry that they didn't cater this specifically to impress you
The broadcaster is just adjusting to the fact Twitch wasn't designed to be a multiplayer game controller. Maybe someone can make a new streaming service (what about youtube gaming?) with no video delay and more manageable chat interface.
What could be interesting is for RPG's like Fallout have human players but the chat decides through the use of live polls on what the player should do. Would be more entertaining to watch and more manageable.
