The fatter you are, the easier it is to drop weight. At 625 lbs, losing 100 pounds in a month is not unheard of
I wouldn't even bother doing abs, and especially I wouldn't do leg raises. You think you work your abs, but its mostly legs. If you really have the need to work the abs I recommend toe touches. It's a very good abs exercise, and when you get tired it is easy to cheat a bit at the end for those few extra reps. If you want to make it harder hold a heavy book in you hands while you do it. You don't need to really touch you toes when doing those, nor do you have to put your legs too high up, just go as far as you can. If you can do 3-4 sets of 12-15 reps I bet you will feel it the next day :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLVgJjuCRE0

I'll give the toe touches a try on Wednesday, then I'll see if it's something for me. don't feel too confident moving out of the program I currently follow
leg raises will work abs but as far as i know your other exercises should work abs well enough. remember, a 6 pack is made in the gym, but revealed in the kitchen.
haven't been here for a while, which sucks. progress has been on a standstill for the past week, not much up, not much down. been struggling a lot with self-neglect the past months due to my depression, which makes this awfully a lot harder. I think I have to put this on the side for the time being to focus on my depression instead of focusing too much on this. will definitely try to make sure I eat the right things though and not too much. it sounds like a terrible decision as my weight really is my worst enemy, but I think it's wiser to focus on my depression to help out with the self-neglect which in turn will make this a lot easier in the future. I'll not completely abandon this though, will try to eat okay as I said above.
Good luck man. Try not give it up. Especially when you're getting some results
going to bump this thread, gonna make another attempt at losing weight. since I posted this, I have gained more weight than I probably should have. when I weighed myself roughly 2 or so months ago, I was at 220lbs which hit pretty hard. I drastically decreased calorie intake to around 500 calories a day, which was a portion of microwave dinner. when I weighed myself yesterday or two days ago, I can't remember, I was down to 209lbs. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and start logging every week again. been thinking of taking walks again at 7PM everyday which should help somewhat.
goddamn 500 calories a day? I hate to say it dude but that's not gonna be sustainable unless you have inhumane self-control and, most importantly, it's not very healthy at all. Just stick to the recommended 500 calories less rather than drastically reducing your intake that much

Pred, you know you got me on Steam, don't be afraid to hit me up if you ever need some motivation or knowledge or simply talking. Also we're the same weight right now lol, from what I remember you're the same height as me? You might not have as much muscle mass as I but being 6' (iirc) and 212 lbs is nothing bad, I used to be 275lbs.
Pred, you know you got me on Steam, don't be afraid to hit me up if you ever need some motivation or knowledge or simply talking.
Same as Heigou said, you know i'm usually around to talk shit out bro. You can do this. We know you can.
one week done! I went for a walk on monday, think I did a short one on tuesday, was out all wedensday which ended with a walk, same with Thursday but not Friday. I weighed in at 96.3 kg today. was thinking of logging everything I eat to get a better overview of what I eat. meeting an old friend today who goes to the gym, so might hop on and start going with him
Nice man. Keep that shit up!
forgot to report last monday, and I forgot to log food intake this week. I'm confident I've kept it reasonable though! on monday that was, I weighed in at exactly 96kg. 0.3 kg loss since last week before that. I haven't been able to arrange anything when it comes to going to the gym as it has been a fairly busy week. I'll look into it more once next week starts. what I ate the week before this one
Monday - Single egg - Two plain cheeseburgers from McDonalds Tuesday - 2 Slices of bread with egg - Half plain cheeseburger from Burger King - Cup of frenchfries - Regular size kebab Wedensday - 2 Slices of bread with butter, cheese, red pepper and cucumber - 5 Pizza slices Thursday - 2 Slices of bread with butter, cheese and cucumber - 1 Slice of cake - Plate with spaghetti, pesto and grinded meat Friday - 2 Slices of bread with butter, cheese and red pepper - 8 hotdogs Saturday - Forgot to log Sunday - 2 Slices of loaf with butter and egg - 1 Whole pizza from the grocery store (roughly 1000cals)
lots of junk, but was a fairly eventful week. I don't usually eat this much junk :v: I'll make sure to log what I eat next week, or at least try to remember it.
must not forget to post! I weighed in at 96.2kg today which Im confident is mostly water weight
forgot to post again for last week, need to get that more integrated in my routine. I weighed in at 97.5kg if I remember correctly on monday.
Monday - Single roll with butter and two eggs (cut in half) Tuesday - Slice of bread with butter and egg - Three beef patties with mashed potatoes Wednesday - Two slices of bread with butter, cheese and cucumber - Some noodles - Single slice of bread with butter and scrambled eggs Thursday - Slice of bread with egg - Six slices of pizza Friday and onwards - Forgot to log
unfortunately I forgot to log this week, but "luckily" I didn't eat a whole lot so I remember most of it at the top of my head.
Monday - An egg - Regular sized kebab Tuesday - An egg Wednesday - An egg - Single taco wrap with grinded meat, cheese, corn, sour cream and nacho flakes Thursday - An egg - Two plain cheeseburgers from McDonalds Friday - Will add later Saturday - Will add later Sunday - Will add later
I feel like I've come out of my routine when it comes to food. this week I've been having difficulties eating. I often go hungry but I don't have any appetite, which makes it very hard to force it down.
I forgot to weigh myself last week unfortunately, so I decided to do this now instead of monday morning so I remember it. keep in mind I weighed myself now (01:13 am) so it's not the ideal morning weighing, but the numbers look good! I'm at 94.7 kg, which is 208lbs. it's only 4 pounds when thinking of since I started, but it's something! unfortunately, yet again, I also forgot to keep a log of my food intake. I'll have to shape up when it comes to remembering all this. in other news, I've most likely scored a job! I went for one which requires a lot of physical activity (general maintenance of the district, e.g mowing public spaces, painting, fixing stuff, creating stuff, general handyman) so if I'm lucky I could lose some extra pounds with the help of this. it's much better than sitting on my ass all day, that's for sure. I've also been debating on going to the gym three times a week in the morning to do strength exercises. not sure how well losing weight and doing strength fits together, got lots of conflicting info about it. some people say I'll just lose the gained muscle if I try to lose weight while doing strength, and some people say I'll gain muscle as well as lose fat percentage. what's the correct info here?
gonna toss in today's weight as it was done in the morning and on a monday, and I'm at 93.5kg or 206lbs!
like shit, I'm not going to get anywhere anytime soon if I keep up this insanely loose regime. I want to go from chubby to fit by just not eating? eh, not gonna happen. thinking of picking up actually exercising now that I have more tools at my disposal. have a little dedicated room to exercise in with exercising bikes, weights and a bench. was thinking strength exercise on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. cardio on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the bike. I've been on this a few times before, but I still consider myself green when it comes to this. ideal body? low fat percentage with defined muscles, at least as an initial goal. I'm able to follow Stronglifts with the equipment I have, right? I have a barbell and I have the weights, not much else is needed? what about bicycling on the bike, how long should I be going? then an important question, when do you think I'd start seeing progress? of course it takes time, but it helps when I have a loose timeframe to work with so I don't wind up giving up. I'm 190-195cm tall, not sure what exactly but somewhere around there. last Monday I weighed in at 94.3kg one last thing, motivation? any way to keep motivation up? whenever I've begun working out, I've given up only a month into it. I suppose a good first step is not to think about my past failures as it kinda turns into a self made prophecy made true.
Tbh I think that the best thing for motivation for exercise is to pay for and exercise at a gym rather than having exercising at home. Eg I pay $55/month on a 12 month contract for my local gym. If I skip exercising at the gym for a month, that's $55 that just went to waste. If I had all the equipment I needed at home but didn't exercise for a month, the only thing I would have lost is working out my body which is the exact thing you need the motivation to do. Then not only do you have all the equipment you'll ever need waiting for you at the gym, but you can get motivation just by being around other people at the gym, eg you can see someone who is fatter than you and think "that would have been me ages ago, look how far I've come since then", and then you can see someone who is built up solidly and think "that's going to be me in a few months". The only thing I regret about with the gym is not signing up any sooner.
