Only a couple of them actually air on TV and it's not the Reddit one
That was stupid
and i was talking about the video itself, not the commercial
and the cat meme one
I wouldn't call it a "cat meme" episode, it had one meme in it, a poster you saw for three seconds.
Personally the worst thing was the totally forced ridiculously cheesy "sad" subplot of Overclockwise where Leela whines the whole episode for no reason. It's like they're trying to stretch out one of their "sad endings" to take up half an episode, but it doesn't work when it's not actually sad. It was actually one of the funniest things I've seen, for all the wrong reasons.
God Reddit, another thing I loved, touched by your hand of shit. I'll still watch Futurama, believe me. But stuff like this pisses me off.
And I remember when people thought this meme was funny (when it was done with new text)
But as soon as comedy central does it, everyone hates it...
Futurama is one of the most well writing cartoons ever.

lol (I know this isn't 4chan but this just needs to be said)

also fuck reddit
That's because the only time you ever see a meme on TV is when it's already several months old on the internet, it's just not funny to us anymore.
This is kind of sad. I didn't realise Futurama was such a meme. I would've rather seen some actual teasers for the new season (even if it is just the same teasers that have been in the countdown).
I'm pretty sure those pictures existed long before reddit did.
Still, Billy West is a pretty cool guy for voicing them (Fry's VA)
I think the people who get butthurt over this are way too set in hating memes to actually think for a second.
I mean using a meme that was formed from your show as a promo for the same show is a lot different than putting rage faces or something all over one that is irrelevant.
It appeals to a lot of the same people who watch the show so there's really no good reason for them not to do something like this
It would be better if they made up new ones related to the show rather than reading random things off the internet imo

Why are you blaming Reddit for this? They didn't make the commercial, Fox did.

The ones they actually air on TV are their own relating to the new episodes
I'm not sure about the ones they upload to Youtube though
I fear Futurama may be going down the same road as the Simpsons.
Their last season with FOX was arguably the best. Last season just felt like a massive shrug complete with pop culture references and cookie cutter plot lines like Family Guy without the cutaway gags.

He isn't talking about good writing. He just misspelled Written.
"Futurama is one of the most good writing cartoons ever" isn't correct.
"Futurama is one of the most well written cartoons ever" is correct.
Memes should NEVER appear anywhere outside of the internet. That's like telling someone an inside joke and they go telling everyone the misinterpretation of that joke.
memes are not an inside joke anymore
what is this, 2008?
Memes should NEVER appear anywhere outside of the internet. That's like telling someone an inside joke and they go telling everyone the misinterpretation of that joke.
Memes should also not appear ON the internet
Comedy Central's biggest show isn't Futurama so I don't think they'll need to hang on to it for a long time like the Simpsons (It's one of Fox's biggest shows, after all.) Besides, the only shows Comedy Central has ever hung on for longer than 6 or 8 seasons is the Daily Show and Colbert Report.
What about South Park? I coulda sworn that's in like season 8 or 9.

Actually, I was wrong, there's 16.
oh god they're doing the zoidburg ones now

gah!
The volume as soon as the ~dubstep~ starts. I had headphones on.
I don't find a problem with their use of the meme at all. In fact it's not surprising they did use it. I've realized that getting mad at shit like this because it should be sacred to the internet like it's part of some secret club is dumb.
I'm pretty sure the original caption is "I see what you did there".
I died a bit watching that.
not sure if meme shitting bullshit for attention
or meme shitting bullshit for attention
Futurama has always been referencing modern Pup-culture. even before the new seasons started.
The Season One episode with the Space Titanic was made because of the Movie Titanic came out recently.
Any episode where they entered the internet.
They also did a whole episode making fun of Napster.
I'm not sure why you guys don't like them continuing to reference modern pop-culture.

That isn't made by 4chan, it was originally meant to be used to quote parts of emails and messages

A commercial made for the purpose of getting attention?!
What is the world coming to...

Regardless of the technical history, the way he's using it is blatantly reminiscent of the way it is used on 4chan
I liked that dubstep song.
