Off topic, but I don't understand why people let the popularity of a band that they've been listening to for a while, effect their enjoyment of it.
I've been listening to AC since before it exploded and I still like it.

I honestly don't know anyone who hates techno, in the broadest sense of the term. And I live in Kentucky, so that's saying something. Even my parents like techno. My mum sings Bass Hunter whenever I play it. So I don't know what you're talking about. I just think a lot of people don't like admiting it.
But, there have been people I've met who say they hate it with a passion. Untill I force them to listen to it. Then it's like crack and always need more, so ya, I think it's just the fact that people like to try to be hardasses all the time.

The thing I love about EDM is how fun it is to dance too. It fits a certain niche in my music needs and I like it because of that. Even when you aren't dancing to it it is still fun to listen to.

But most rave places play some form of techno. I wasn't saying I hated techno, I was responding to the thread title, because that [B]is[/B] why a lot of people hate techno.
Most genres of music are hated simply because of the fan base.
So the OP's claim that people who like techno simply have better taste in music...
Techno is really whitebread.
Even when blacks make it.
I personally just find it humdrum, listening to various computer tones in a beat...
I also listen to music on the background and I don't like Techno.
