After beating Armond White to the punch of upsetting "Toy Story 3's" perfect 100% RottenTomatoes score I realize how fascistically fetishistic RT readers are about things like protecting a "perfect score" for a movie.
What's more surprising to me is how few "critics" exercise the demands of their job description. There isn't a film I can think of that doesn't have detractors, so why should "Toy Story 3" be any different? That I had to come along behind 150 "critics" to be the first one to speak out about the film's weaknesses, and they are many, speaks volumes.
I have young nieces and nephews with responsible parents who are very sensitive to what their kids see. I could not in good conscious endorse "Toy Story 3" as a G-rated film that meets their criteria.
On top of that, Hollywood is currently changing the game on what audiences should expect from a "3-D" movie in order to charge higher ticket prices. As a critic, I've had the luxury of seeing many "3-D" films, and know what that medium should deliver on a consistent basis. Again, I cannot endorse the watered-down version of "3-D" that Disney/Pixar is selling with "Toy Story 3."
As for all of the personal attacks that readers make in their rude e-mails to me, I understand that people need to let off steam, especially in these very difficult times. It goes with the territory of being a critic who takes his job seriously.
Oh lord.
I know most of you think that a Toy Story 4 is not really necessary, and I do too. We all love the characters, and we will miss them. But if there is a story to tell IMO I think it would interesting. Even if it was a short movie infront of a movie like Cars 2 (which is rumored to happen. I think it's true actually). I'm not ready for Woody and Buzz to leave me forever.
"Now, that being said, there may be opportunities for Woody and Buzz in the future, but we don't have any plans for anything right now."

Now here is the interesting part. What about Toy Story 3? What thing/object/character from Toy Story 3 could be significant to a future Pixar movie? Well, skeptics say its Boo.
Boo is at the bottom right.

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll post it here in case anyone missed it. OP is it possible to put a Easter Egg section or something?
That really doesn't look like her, why would they have changed the hair if we were supposed to recognize her? besides Toy Story 3 apparently already had it's upcoming character snuck in:
Check out the car poster by Andy's bed. That's a hint at a new character, Finn McMissile, who will debut in Cars 2. A full design for the character was shown off at last year's D23, showing Finn as a James Bond-esque Aston Martin.
There was also a "NEWT CROSSING" sign in andy's room but that might not count anymore since Newt may have been cancelled
Check out this article for more easter eggs: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=67118
I heard Newt was postponed for their creative teams to focus on other projects such as Brave, Monsters Inc. 2 and Cars 2. I guess there is hope that Newt isn't cancelled with what you said Postal.
Anyways, back to Toy Story. Anyone remember the PS1 game for Toy Story 2? I used to play the shit out of that.

That game was so fucking awesome!
[editline]10:30PM[/editline]
also, I liked the 3D that was used for Toy Story 3, it was like Avatar. Not shitty gags, it just gave things depth, like it's supposed to do.

Well it was worth a long shot. I mean who knows maybe Boo does look like that when she's a bit older. Maybe she grew her hair out?
I can't watch it until next weekend FUCK
http://www.toonzone.net/news/articles/33727/disney-plans-new-toy-story-shorts
Walt Disney plans to produce four new Toy Story cartoon shorts a year, Reuters reports.
The shorts will each be less than seven minutes long and will be thematically aligned to the film series, in contrast to Buzz Lightyear Star Command, which was an episodic series focusing on one character.
The news comes as part of a report that Disney expects retailers to sell $2.4 billion of Toy Story-related merchandise this year. Since the series debuted in 1995, retailers have moved more than $9 billion in related merchandise.
also the new upcoming character is supposedly the black retro car seen on andy's calendar, as there is going to be a spy character in Cars 2

That was like the greatest game for me, I remember my dad and I would work on trying to beat that game. I think we got to the airport level, I remember some level that was inside and had a plane but my game got erased some how. So whenever I played it it, I used a cheat for all levels
I never did figure out how to beat the garbage can monster on my own, my dad always had to do it
Well it was worth a long shot. I mean who knows maybe Boo does look like that when she's a bit older. Maybe she grew her hair out?
but don't they always sneak in a character from the next pixar film? monster's inc 2 doesn't come out for years from now
Hey guys so you know how Pixar hides a character in each of their movies that have a significance in the following movie they create.

Like in this picture. Boo is holding the fish that would be Nemo in a later movie. The boy in dentists office in Finding Nemo is reading a comic called The Incredibles. And Wall-E appeared in the 2D short in Ratatouille.

Here is another example. In UP, you see Lotso in this scene which would be relevant in Toy Story 3.

I can see a resembelance, but I doubt thats the reference. I would assume that Pixar would be more subtle about it, for example, I didn't notice the bear during that Up scene, or the Incredibles comic in the Finding Nemo scene. The reference is probably a small detail.
Also, were there any references to UP in Wall-E?
Ah I remember when I seen that movie for the first time it was my favorite.
This Armond White character looks to be in the running for the Biggest Douche in the Universe.
True art is watching hot-chick Megan Fox (as Lilah the hooker) fearlessly staring at the most grotesque side of Jonah’s face as if coming to grips with her own exploitation.
How is this guy even a Critic?
I just noticed this in the Armond White review:
The toys wage battle with the daycare center’s cynical veteran cast-offs: Hamm the Piggy Bank pig, Lotsa Hugs and Big Baby.
:colbert:
I just saw it and am pleased. I loved it. But I can't help but feel a little bit empty inside, I mean I did grow up with those characters.
Just saw TS3 at the drive-in and I almost cried like 3 times.
Have my babies, Pixar.

Well that girl is holding a kitty and kinda looks like Boo
the kitty part is irrelevant, her face looks exactly like Boo if you were to add a year or two, and of course the hair color is the same

She called Sully kitty
She called Sully kitty
Yep that's what I meant
She called Sully kitty
yeah, i know, but i don't think there's any actual relevance aside for that (and both are blue)
And have stripes.
Also, were there any references to UP in Wall-E?
I'm not sure, but blimey there have been lots of references in WALL-E.
I just noticed this in the Armond White review:
:colbert:
Did he even WATCH the movie?
I have a feeling he's just hating on it just to hate on it. The actual "3D" really has nothing to do with the movie itself.
I hate how he keeps putting that in quotes.
[editline]08:35AM[/editline]
I get the feeling his impression of 3D is the one that a lot of people hate, which is the one that scares the shit out of the audience by making shit pop out at you.

Not sure about that.
Also, are these Toy Story shorts going to be literally a 2D cartoon or is it animated like Toy Story 3 was.

I remember that game. Was awesome, I still know the layout of each level.

the original concept for Sulley had stripes, the Sulley that they wound up using had spots.

They're most likely going to be like the Cars animations. I think they also planned out shorts for Monsters, Inc. as well but it never happened

I hope so. I can't imagine never seeing Buzz and Woody again.
Yeah I'm not exactly sure how or when in the timeline they're going to do these things. They COULD do it now, after the movie, seeing as [sp]Andy left ALL of them to Bonnie[/sp] also in the game, in the menu, you hear all of the main toys from Andy and Bonnie's toys, which could be a subtle hint of some kind (or not who knows)
