Yeah but not all of them do that so at least it stops a few. It doesn't matter how many times you post it, it can still be picked up.

it doesn't matter how many times you post your email in a public place...
even if you only did it once the bots could still find your email and spam it
and I seriously doubt spam bots are advanced enough to include all the methods that try to stop them (because most people still don't do the <at> (at)[at] thing)

You realize that adding <at> and other stuff would be extremely easy if you already have the code for the bot. It looks stupid too.
If you don't want spam just don't go online or create a spam email on yahoo or gmail if you are really that paranoid.
noone is actually "paranoid" about this, but if there is a way to get out of the way of spam, then what's wrong with using it?
fair enough if you think the method is easy to work around, but fact is that spambots don't need to include the "<at>" stuff, because there are more than enough exposed email addresses to go around
