you'll be able to spend your points if you enter the redemption to get a prize, if you lose you'll pay 100 points. I think that's how it works, someone please correct me if that's wrong.

I don't think it's dead, I'm still giving out invites and people are joining the site. They're just waiting for a larger userbase before they can reliably put out more redemptions.
