He retained his old sound, but merged it with the style of modern music. I have mixed feelings about the final product. I like Never Gonna Give You Up more than almost every song I hear on the radio, but this song doesn't have the same effect on me. It sounds too much like everything else. It's great that he's still making songs, though.
It isn't bad, but when I heard this version of Never Gonna Give You Up I just can't say this new one is his best.
