deadmau5
People only seemed to pay attention to him after 4x4=12, quite sad considering his older stuff is better.
I thought For Lack of a Better Name was much more popular.
It is popular but 4x4=12 seems to have exploded in popularity because of Raise Your Weapon.
Burial wins the award for most overrated artist of all time.
Rolling Stones
no way, maybe Exile on Main Street, but Sticky Fingers was groovy as heck. You could be right about things in that era. But you must realise their catalogue is "extensive", so a lot of things get overlooked too.
Katy Perry Ed Sheeran Nicki Minaj Lady Gaga
who the fuck is nicki minaj anyway
who the fuck is nicki minaj anyway
A very talented young lady
Burial wins the award for most overrated artist of all time.
nooooooooooooo how could you. sorry but I don't think you 'get' him. (i dont mean to sound pretentious or condescending).
Strokes officially just became underrated in this thread.
Billy Joel lol no not really I can't think of anyone other than the obvious ones like alot of remixers and pop singers. I can't think of any examples but I don't really like when somebody gets super famous for writing a song and just play it on guitar and sing it, unless they're really unique, good at guitar and such.
eh. but you like the blues right?
Depends if the guy has character or not. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] An example, Robert Johnson all he ever did (or what we know) was play guitar and sing the blues like anybody else and occassionly play harmonica. Why is he so famous? Mostly because of the way he played the guitar, introducing the rock swing and all that. Disregarding the fact that he is a mysterious character. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] Most blues I listen to is band music anyway. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] Not alot of blues musicians just go out there and only play the guitar and sing and get famous.
Burial wins the award for most overrated artist of all time.
I tried listening to his stuff -- I fell asleep.
I remember actually there was a song that had it's time on the radio a time ago. Some girl singing a cover of Your Song by Elton John. I kept asking myself why this was on the radio, she was basically doing it exactly as Elton John except she didn't play the piano as advanced and her singing was good sure but who can't sing?

Why wasn't I in this thread earlier?

But you must realise their catalogue is "extensive", so a lot of things get overlooked too.
If anything Exlie is their most underrated album. I think it's best thing they've ever done, and there's maybe one song from it that gets played on the radio. Most casual fans don't even know that album. [editline]30th July 2012[/editline] I guess there isn't really a point in trying to convince someone who hasn't even heard of The Strokes just how important they were, but Is This It was HUGE for the early 00's rock scene and the legacy of that album lasted through most of the decade. The Killers owe a lot to the The Strokes. Perhaps decade defining is a little strong, but they were still pretty damn important.

I do think she's overrated, her debut stuff is bland and her new stuff is even more bland and generic.

To be honest, the acclaim that gets heaped on Is This It could also go to The White Stripes' White Blood Cells. They're both very similar in style and both released the same month
white stripes were actually cool once the strokes just dressed like the jonas brothers circa 2020
If anything Exlie is their most underrated album.
You know it's their most acclaimed album right?
I find Kasabian so dull and uninteresting, don't understand how they headline so many festivals and arenas.
don't understand
they make money for their music company.

odd future is stupid
nooooooooooooo how could you. sorry but I don't think you 'get' him. (i dont mean to sound pretentious or condescending).
No I "get" him. He is a self-admitted amateur music producer who produces ambience and everyone treats him like a god.
No I "get" him. He is a self-admitted amateur music producer who produces ambience and everyone treats him like a god.
I enjoy some of his tracks, sometimes minimal is better. There are much better garage/dubstep producers out there though.

Makes sense. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] I do love Burial's music but it's not wrong to make a case that he's overrated.
