Need special help to learn well? Problems preventing you doing regular work? Don't you worry, you'll slip through the cracks and have a miserable life while we don't give a shit because our test scores are insanely high, therefore granting us funding to give even LESS of a shit about you!
Pretty much this.
The keyboarding situation is the same with me. I want to do programming and web design but keyboarding is the starting point of the computers course, and while I'm flying at an average of 60-80 WPM, other kids have like 10-20. To get an A, all you need is 25 WPM. Plus the teacher always uses demotivators in the vocab presentations, and the vocab are things that everyone should know, like LAN or HDD.
I had this one elective in 6th grade that rotated us out of different classes every month to see what electives we want to take in the rest of middle school and high school. When we were in the computers class, I had like 70 WPM and fucking aced the shit out of that class. I did so well that the teacher didn't even care if I sat around watching YouTube videos all period or if I left the class 15 minutes early.
Fun Fact for the day:
Over 150,000 Jews served in the German Army during WW2, including some very highly decorated Staff Officers (Hermann Goering's second in command for example). At least 5,000 are know to have served in the Waffen-SS, and as SS concentration camp guards.

Actually live and enjoy your life. Not sure why everyone here feels obligated to join the military.
lolno
Actually live and enjoy your life. Not sure why everyone here feels obligated to join the military.
I don't, but I would if I wasn't semi crippled.
But why does everyone want to? There's really no point when the current war is BS and you could actually learn a real trade and do something valuable for a community rather than be cannon fodder for rich white men. I respect the military, but it seems like modern wars are becoming pointless.
That's why I'm quitting band, it's boring and jrotc seems like a change of pace. I'm not gonna join the military, just gonna do jrotc for the rest of high school if I even decide to.

does this not look like an extremely fun job
How does that help people? You should be able to look back on life and say I made a difference. I would understand if say Canada was fighting a war and you may have saved civilian lives. How am I close minded? Just because we disagree doesn't mean I'm in the wrong neccesarily .
he can help people after he's discharged
and in the meantime he will be driving afvs like a boss

i get a decent amount of money to start off my future, get a headstart money-wise to start up a shop and shit, help people fix their cars
watch as we go to somalia in the next couple years lol
also what are you thinking of doing exactly that you can say "cf doesnt help people"
i'm saying you're close minded because you're completely ignoring that maybe someone WANTS to enlist, you're acting like the only reason someone wants to enlist is if they didn't have a choice

That's pretty much why I don't like America.
I am being a little close minded. I just feel people here place too much emphasis on the Military. Americans have no reason to fight the wars we are in, so those who join up are either joining pointlessly, furthering the ambitions of the government who fought a war for resources, cut out when we started looking bad, join under the illusion they can protect the US from the wrong enemy (we got Osama 10 years after he was relevant, and we really haven't been fighting Al-Queda, or they think killing is cool for some reason. I really can't speak for Canadian soldiers, as I don't know your history too well.

For me it would be better than sitting around being an IRL foreveralone.jpeg and being on Facepunch all day and just generally doing something I don't want to just so I can get away from this shitty place. Unfortunately that's how my life is going to end up because I just had to be born with a genetically inherited muscular defect preventing me from joining the military and ending up far as fuck away from here. And I can't lie about it because it's on my medical records that I have Becker's Muscular Dystrophy, and the army doesn't like cripples.
There is absolutely no reason for us to be at war right now. The only "valid" reasons I've seen is "we got to kill al the muzlim terorests!1"
At this point, we've done more harm than any terrorist organization in history.

Well before Canada went into Kandahar, it was one of the most dangerous provinces in Afghanistan. By the time we left it became one of the most stable and we flushed the Taliban out of the very district they originated from. That has to be saying something.
My question, why are we obligated to fix Afghanistan? You can't destroy the Taliban, you can only stall them. They beat the USSR with US help, now they're probably beating the US with Russian help.

We don't have to, but I'm sure Afghan women appreciate having rights for the first time ever and the average Afghan farmer appreciates not having to give a fairly large portion of their crops to the Taliban out of fear of getting killed.
If we still want to help out the world, I think that taking it easy and only tackling one obstacle at once would be the solution.
